    The Battery Management Systems (BMS) Software (SW) Requirement Engineer will be responsible for the decomposition and development of the BMS SW functional requirements for multiple Stellantis xEV programs. The development of BMS SW functional requirements begins with the decomposition of multiple program specific requirements which include requirements waterfall from Vehicle System, PRS Program Management, Regulatory, Controls Features, and Diagnostics and Functional Safety organizations to name a few. The decomposition of these requirements will be captured in the BMS functional requirements for software. The BMS SW Requirement Engineer will collaborate with cross functional Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within Stellantis to gain alignment for the final BMS SW requirement publication. The Engineer will work with the BMS product release and software and hardware DREs to solve application issues during BMS software design & validation phases. In addition, the engineer will work with the global Battery Pack, Cells and Modules (PCMP) team to identify opportunities to harmonize BMS SW requirements and processes.

    Job Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To:

  • Decompose and identify requirements that will impact the BMS.
  • Develop and document BMS SW requirements for xHEV programs.
  • Coordinating with other Subject Matter Experts (SME)/engineers and teams to capture necessary inputs, balance, and alignment.
  • Is the BMS technical expert for the assigned BMS SW requirement responsibility.
  • Support investigation of BMS requirement issues and support root cause analysis and mitigation and corrective action plans
  • Present BMS SW requirements to various technical and management teams.
  • Maintaining requirements in management tool ch
  • Actively drives complexity reduction through commonization for the BMS Architecture and requirements across vehicle programs
  • Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related engineering field from an ABET accredited/equivalent university.
  • 2-5 years experience in Battery Packs, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical Components or related.
  • 2-5 years experience in Automotive industry, in area of calibration, software/controls development, design release, and Manufacturing or related.
  • Competent in Excel spreadsheet and Microsoft suit experience
  • Strong presentation and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Works well as an individual and as part of a team
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, and eager/able to learn new activities quickly
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering as accredited by ABET or ABET equivaleent.
  • Experience with requirements development or systems engineering for xEV applications.
  • Familiar with Battery Management System (BMS).
  • Familiar with Control Algorithms development or embedded Controls
  • Experience in Diagnostics, power management, cybersecurity, Flash -Over-the-Air (FOTA) or Over-The-Air (OTA) areas.
  • Experience with requirements management tools and workflow such as DOORS/DN
  • Experience with ETAS INCA, Vector CANalyzer or similar to
  • Experienced with On board diagnostic (OBD) requirements.
  • Experience using a disciplined system development process based on ASPICE or CMMI
  • Experience in the full product life cycle.
  • Experience in electronic components, electrical circuit design, and Software/controls development.
