PURPOSE OF POSITION
- Using statistical analysis and manufacturing engineering techniques, troubleshoots manufacturing processes and develops ways to reduce variability in those processes. (Such as safety, Quality, absenteeism, Efficiency, Down Time, Scrap & Missing Schedule).
- Decision making skills & ability to analyze information and evaluate results to make the best decision in solving problems.
- Head count monitoring for Demand increases and new launches.
- Drive product Quality & process capabilities, trough quality subordinates & all staff.
- Ensure all quality issues are listed and quantified in a proper chart with short/long term corrective actions.
- Perform Efficient finance management for Production lines.
- Coordinate with other value stream managers, integrating objectives and ideas for Lean and Organizational growth.
- Ensure harmonious environment for workers on Production lines.
- Responsible for mentoring internal staff, motivating them to all for effective performance for general growth of the company.
- Support to new products to develop and communicate plan for launching of new products, same as the implementation.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Assume overall accountability for production costs and efficiency of assigned Value Stream.
Maintain quality through all processes; reacts to quality issues and responds with corrective actions.
Utilizes lean concepts to drive process improvements, data analysis and regular project management.
Ensures strict compliance with corporate EH&S goals and compliance objectives.
Ensures that programs and procedures are adopted to guard against industrial accidents and protect the safety and wellbeing of area employees.
Monitoring an annual operating budget and ensures that assigned Value Stream operates within established cost controls.
Accountable for establishing and executing productivity projects to meet Value Stream and plant targets.
Responsible to work with engineering and product teams to ensure manufacturability of new product(s), machine specifications, plant capital requirements, project timelines, and production launch.
Continually reviewing and evaluating existing operating policies, procedures, systems, schedules, equipment, etc., and overseeing the implementation of modifications and improvements.
Through subordinates and upon approval, as necessary, establishes operating policies, procedures, and practices for their manufacturing area; interprets and explains objectives, programs and policies.
Regularly reviews and analyzes various types of manufacturing related reports and keeps senior management informed of significant activities and problems.
Drive MDI practices and continues improvement.
Drive Leadership to make things happen in regards of all support departments as quality, maintenance, manufacturing, and materials.
Work closely with Manufacturing Eng.
to ensure a safety spare parts stock for all those critical & long lead time items for equipment and preventive maintenance.
Develops and implements capital improvement projects to provide cost savings to the process.Using lean manufacturing techniques and six sigma methodologies develops process improvements and optimal use of manufacturing resources.
Develops standard operating procedures which direct the most efficient, cost effective and highest quality process. (Think Lean)
Reduces machine down-time by developing standard work instructions for predictive/preventative maintenance.
Identifies the schedule, tools, and supplies needed for proper maintenance of capital for equipment.
Works closely with Finance and Materials to ensure correct manufacturing costs, process routings and bill of materials
Work closely with the production supervisor, quality, manufacturing Eng., materials team to promote teamwork with all involved members in the Production area.
REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (BSME or BS in Mfg. Eng preferred)
- 7+ years equivalent experience (significantly and directly related).
