Description

This position is responsible for ensuring $2 Billion USD of payables per year are paid accurately and timely to our vendors, while enforcing the Purchasing Policy and SOX controls.

Accountabilities

Conducts research projects and responds to external vendor inquiries.
Manages the relationship with PAC vendor to ensure electronic accounting compliance on validation and proper interface functionality along with IT specialist.
Manages OCR system to ensure all invoices process accordingly.
Performs monthly account reconciliations for assigned GL accounts.
Provides monthly and yearly accruals.
Coordinates quarterly 1099 IRS reviews and corrections when needed.
Analyzes and explains monthly variations and account behavior.
Manages workload distribution based on special KPI reporting to ensure team is rounded on knowledge and experience of the whole AP process.
Elaborates forecast and payment information to treasury for cash flow determination.
Exemplifies KCS Vision, Values, and Culture interactions with coworkers, business partners, customers and stakeholders.
Supports both internal and external audit requirements.

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in a job related major field of study
Minimum five (5) years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred

SAP or automated AP processing experience
Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software management experience
Ability to read, comprehend and speak Spanish and English 90% +
Three (3) years transportation industry experience

Working Conditions

This position has a regular full time schedule with a normal work week of Monday through Friday. There may be a need for occasional work after hours or weekends.
This position may require mínimal travel up to 10% of the time.
