Tecnico de Calibracion III

Description

Coordinates the process of protecting and Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE), including traceability through scheduling of internal and external calibrations.

Follows the process of customer response to out-of-tolerance equipment findings.

Leads gauge capability studies of new gauging prior to release to use.

Develops and documents calibration procedures, by using best practices and/or consensus standards, including automated procedures as needed.

Applies statistically optimized calibration cycles that minimizes data quality risks and maximizes M&TE availability.

Performs calibrations of M&TE using established procedures.

Utilizes the M&TE management system to maintain an accurate M&TE inventory and assures calibration due reports, calibration results, out of tolerance conditions are reported, filed, tracked.

Provides training on M&TE calibration and maintenance processes and procedures to other lab personnel and customers as needed.

Participates in inter-laboratory comparisons and Measurement Assurance Programs.

Participates in uncertainty studies associated with measurement or calibration results and reports the measurement uncertainty associated with each calibration performed.

Maintains the laboratory quality system.

Applies knowledge of applicable quality standards (e.g. 17025, ISO 9001, AITF and appropriate Cummins procedures/work.

Coordinates purchases of appropriate lab services and consumables.

Acts as a technical resource in the day-to-day lab operations and engineering and quality staff in providing technical measurement and M&TE support.

Reports data quality metrics associated with assigned work.

Provides training to apprentices and technicians.

Qualifications

Skills

Communicates effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.

Measurement Science - Analyzes measurement processes throughout the relevant traceability chain to identify and quantify sources of measurement uncertainty relevant to the appropriate applied measurement science, "Metrology" e.g.

Chemical, Dimensional, Electrical, Mechanical, Optical and Radiation and Physical.

Laboratory Management - Leads technical resources while managing the business aspects of a laboratory using measure to control both the technical and business aspects of the organization and assuring the requirements of the appropriate certifications and/or accreditations are met.

Data Quality - Identifies, understands and corrects flaws in data that supports effective information governance across operational business processes and decision making.

Customer focus - Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

A regionally applicable Certification (e.g. US Department of Labor) or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college program in a relevant field of study.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience
Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
