    A leading provider of Geoscience Software seeks a Regional Technical Manager to join their Latin America team and working closely with the Regional Manager, take responsibility for defining all aspects of their technical strategy.

    Applicants invited with a minimum of 15+ years of technical experience in the Oil & Gas industry, fluency in Spanish, combined with a strong geophysical QI background.

    Experience in the development/deployment of technologies highly desired but the key focus of this role is the ability to deliver hands-on technical QI related projects and services and to drive technical excellence in this domain.

    Preference for people living in South America, especially Mexico but the Company is open to supporting the relocation of an experienced applicant.

    South America is a major growth region and focus for the Company, with a key customer base across Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and Columbia.

    This is an interesting and multi-faceted role focusing on defining and implementing technical strategy, staying at the leading edge of quantitative interpretation projects, ensuring customers get best value from the solutions, and to continue to build a diverse teams of experts in an environment of excellence.

    Responsibilities
    Reporting to the Regional Manager, your primary responsibilities will be to:

    Establish relationships of trust with your peers (Business Managers, Product Champions, Technical Assistants, Technical Sales...) to ensure informed technical decisions are made.

    ServicesWork with the Business Managers and Region Manager to ensure that customers are getting value using the Company's technology to address their needs.

    Work with Business Managers and Region manager to develop realistic scope and deliverables of services.
    Responsible to ensure the appropriate execution is applied to all services.
    Provide input on ways to improve workflows and the software.

    Assist with region support efforts – perform QI projects, deliver training services, provide onsite support services in the QI domain, provide consulting and specialized services which can be provided remotely or in person.

    Manage new technologyManage the Region Product Champion (RPC) programAssign Region Product Champions for each application to ensure the timely introduction of new technology into the RegionBe engaged in projects where technology is applied first timeProvide active feedback on required software development and problems.

    Keep track of key technologies that may already exist as well as upcoming technologies.
    Attend seminars/conferences/webinars/roadshows as required to represent the Company and to improve your understanding of latest trends in technology deployment.

    While not preferred, the RTM may be required to serve as RPC for a certain software, in the event there is not another appropriate choice available.

    Seek to identify innovations in the software business model based on existing or envisioned new technologies.

    Define, implement and drive best practice and tools for highly effective solution deliverables – have a consistent focus on delivering excellence to customers.

    BusinessActive participation in developing technological strategy with the Region Manager.
    Support sales activities at the highest technical level to help identify new opportunities for the region.
    Manage the development of proper sales presentations and software demonstrations to support software sales.
    Seek to identify new opportunities from discussing needs and working on solutions with clients.

    Ensure proper training courses are being run in the region (Internal & External)Staff DevelopmentOwn the Skills Assessment for all Technical Advisors (TA) in the region.

    Reviews staff skill levels with the Region Manager.

    Works with the Region Manager to identify areas of strength and weakness to accomplish the technical advisory required in the region.

    Ensures development objectives are input to the appraisal process for all technical staff.
    Identifies the training required to advance the technical staff to be able meet the needs of the region.

    Work with Region Manager to ensure that a short term training program and long-term development plan correlate with and are prioritized based on anticipated business opportunitiesProvide technical training and schedule other required training for all technical staffProvide technical competence recommendations for the hiring of the technical staf Preferences The successful candidate will have:


    • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline essential – preferably in an earth science subject such as geophysics.15+ years technical experience in Oil & Gas industry essential.
    Strong Geophysical technical background essentialAbility to deliver hands-on technical QI related projects and services at a very senior level.

    Expertise in reservoir characterization tools and practices essential - working as a geoscientist in reservoir characterization projects using seismic inversion.

    Experience with Jason Workbench software in reservoir characterization projects in different reservoirs highly desired.
    Able to communicate in Spanish and English language fluently essential.
    Previous experience in managing/driving software/technology development or deployment projects highly desired.
    Technically deep with business savvy to interface with all levels and disciplines across the Company essential.
    Experience as a Subject Matter Expert in Geophysical applications highly desired.
    Experience in Petrophysics and Rock Physics for reservoir characterization projects advantageous.
    Knowledge about Hampson Russel or PowerLog products advantageous.
    Experience with Anisotropic Inversion projects advantageous.

    Experience in Multi-component Inversion projects advantageousExperience in Jason Geostatistical Inversion projects advantageousAbility to communicate with ease at different levels in the organization and with stakeholders with different backgrounds and objectives essential.

    Effective communication and people management skills essential.
    Strong operation and project management skills essentialStrong commercial acumen – alignment with company interest.

    Experience working for oil and gas operating companies desired.
    Currently residing in Mexico or South America highly desired.
    Highly diplomatic – working across all levels of seniority – many with competing priorities.
    Ability to perform under pressure and to deliver results.
