Contract Specialist - North American Contracts Center of Excellence

Which is the main objective of this role?


Come join the PepsiCo Legal team as a member of the newly created North American Contracts Center of Excellence (COE) This role will provide contract support for the largest PepsiCo businesses and functions (PepsiCo Beverages North America (PBNA), PepsiCo Foods North America (PFNA), and the North America Corporate functions) in one of three designated business/functional pillars.


What will you be doing?

  • Provide contract support for PBNA, PFNA, and the PepsiCo Corporate functions in one of three designated functional pillars: Supply Chain/Operations/Procurement; R&D and Sustainability; and Sales and Marketing
  • Support contracts using templated agreements for relevant pillar, including, for example, nondisclosure/confidentiality agreements, promotion and sponsorship agreements, sales/customer contracts, procurement contracts, comanufacture/copack agreements, master service agreements, thirdparty logistics agreements and other supply chain/sustainability statements of work and contracts, material transfer agreements, amendments, letters of intent, joint development agreements, IP license agreements, etc.; prepare comments and responses to requests for proposals/bids
  • Resolve routine issues and assist USbased attorneys who are providing primary advice and counsel on complex business issues
  • Respond to inquiries by business partners to assist them through various legal processes; create/maintain positive and effective working relationships with business and legal partners
  • Support development/improvement of standard contract templates, playbooks, and processes as well as online contract resources
  • Work collaboratively with relevant lawyers and tax and other professionals to ensure transactions are structured appropriately; ensure adherence to applicable policies
  • Assist with contracts/process education and training

Qualifications:

Who are we looking for?
years of relevant experience; bachelor's degree or equivalent a plus

  • Relevant experience in a corporate legal department and/or large law firm a plus
  • English language fluency in speaking and drafting
  • Strong knowledge of contracting/transactional principles as well as Englishlanguage contract drafting; knowledge of US contracting a plus
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Outlook
  • Strong analytical ability and attention to detail; ability to handle tight timelines and to balance priorities
  • Strong organizational skills and proactive process and continuous improvement orientation
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as successfully coexist within a team; willingness to learn about PepsiCo's businesses
  • Demonstrated ability to create/maintain positive and effective working relationships with U.Sbased legal and other functional teams and business partners while assisting through process
