Gerente, Project Manager Regulatory Reporting Framework

Role context and purpose:


HBMX operates in a highly complex regulatory environment facing a number of government entities including CNBV, Bank of Mexico, CONDUSEF, Secretaria de Hacienda, SRE, among others.

HBMX is required to deliver over 750 regulatory reports on a periodic basis to these various entities. There is a need to improve the existing Regulatory Reporting Framework to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements.

We are looking to hire a Gerente of Regulatory Reporting Framework for HBMX.

The purpose of the creation of the role is to support management oversight for our framework and support governance, remediation efforts, and embeddedness of sustainable practices across the function.

This role will play a critical function in managing cross-line of business meetings and stakeholders with a particular focus on Project Management, Governance and Data.


Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities:


  • This role is primarily focused on Project Management and Governance support.
  • Support project management activities across a range of Regulatory Reporting transformation work streams.
  • Assist in the management of budgets across lines of businesses for investments necessary to transform the Regulatory Reporting framework in HBMX.
  • Support a cultural transformation in HBMX's Regulatory Reporting environment to embed endtoend ownership and sustainable practices across the function.
  • Support in the preparation and management of logistics of governance of regulatory reporting framework in HBMX, including the monthly Regulatory Reporting Steering Committee and biweekly working groups.
  • Manage and maintain the full inventory of HBMX's regulatory reporting requirements, including operational guidelines.
  • Manage and maintain the full inventory of regulatory report owners and risk stewards.
  • Proactively manage relationships with regulatory report owners across businesses and functions in HBMX.
  • Attend meetings on remediation efforts in our regulatory reporting framework, including actively working with business lines and functions to track the remediation of critical regulatory reports, processes or procedures.
  • Manage logistics of engagements with assurance and audit functions to ensure the integrity of our regulatory reporting management oversight, processes, procedures and output.
  • Support budget and AOP exercises related to potential costs or investments necessary to maintain a robust and sustainable regulatory reporting capability. Liaise with business lines and functions, particularly COOs and Finance to have holistic visibility of budgetary requirements and challenges.
  • Assist in readacross capabilities and share best practices between business lines and functions in order to improve the regulatory reporting process.
  • Coordinate remediation activities related to Data Integrity in reports, liaising with relevant CDOs, COOs or CAOs in the businesses and functions.
  • Provide quality assurance reconciliations on a sample basis as required for critical regulatory reports.
  • Create management information updates and decks for relevant governance and senior management.
  • Proactively determine, analyze and identify performance metrics and measurements and dictate improvement plans to track and drive on time delivery and adherence to budgets for the various Regulatory Reporting related projects.
  • Actively manage and coordinate programme road map, proactively escalating issues and managing changes as they arise, keeping stakeholders updated and focused on agreed change outcomes.
Requirements


Knowledge, Experience and Capabilities

  • 3+ years in the banking industry in areas related to Project Management, Transformation, Data Analytics, Data Remediation.
  • Outstanding understanding of HSBC Group structures, values, behaviors, processes and objectives.
  • Knowledge of the external regulatory environment in Mexico
  • Knowledge of HBMX's organizational structure, including business lines and functions.
  • Strong understanding of HBMX's systems infrastructure, its advantages and challenges.
  • Strong project management skills, including PM certifications or trainings are a plus.
  • Understanding of HSBC's global Risk Management Framework.
  • Knowledge of global transformation business frameworks, methodologies and best practices.
  • Ability to challenge senior stakeholders across businesses where appropriate.
  • Change management and Implementation management.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Extreme attention to detail.
