    Position Description Summary:

    The main responsibility of this position is to provide technical service requested by Engineering Plastics customers / business partners, OEMs, and Sales (Commerical Operations).
    Identify new attractive business opportunities and set projects / activities along with Sales. Participate actively to create profitable growth within existing and future EP incumbent applications. Geographical Scope: Country
    Preferably located in CDMX, Puebla, Querétaro or Monterrey.

    Major Tasks & responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical service into the sales & marketing organization in alignment with sales strategies and regional targets.
  • Generate market intelligence, monitor market trends and maintain awareness of industry issues affecting the EP business.
  • Actively organize seminars to build Covestro value against competition by participating on industrial marketing activities to develop new markets and/or new applications by showcasing materials and providing meaningful information around EP portfolio, focusing on specialties while maintaining core volume growth and market penetration in the EP Mexican Industry.
  • Build strategic partnership with key customers. Initiate collaboration projects.
  • Strategic link with OEM's based in the country to carry out high level technical discussions and industrial marketing activities.
  • Identify key technology partners in the market and build partnership to co-promote package solutions for customers.
  • Leverage the R&D resources to develop new material and application solutions.
  • Define, promote, lead and evaluate projects and activities to effectively manage the team's efforts.
  • Strengthen Covestro EP portfolio in México.
  • Ensure coordination and information sharing with sales & marketing counterparts in all regions (NAFTA, EMEA and APAC).
  • Work with EP Commercial Operations to support customers on tech days, products trials, trainings, and customers complaints.
  • Enter and upload all necessary information around EP projects in C4C.
  • Enter customer complaints on GCMS (Global Complaint Management System) and provide the appropriate follow-up by providing all the needed information to Covestro Lab team, by sending the needed samples/parts for analysis to our Pittsburgh or German laboratory, and by providing proper closure to customers.
  • Create in C4C call reports of technical visits to customers and prospects.

    This position gives the possibility to increase the EP market share into the important and dynamic growth of Mexican market by pursuing high profit margins through maintaining EP market leadership with current and future customers (OEMs, Tiers).

    Work Relations:

    Internal:

    Commercial Operations and EP Industrial Marketing.

    Covestro LLC and Covestro AG Complaint Departments.

    Technical representatives in the NAFTA region, product managers and production sites at Covestro LLC and Covestro AG.

    Logistic department and customer service representatives.

    Interacts and cooperates with EP peers and colleagues of the NAFTA, EMEA and APAC regions.

    External:

    Customers and Business partners at different levels (Purchasing, Engineering, Design and Materials Engineers, OEM Material Engineering Officers, Technical Marketing Engineers, Quality Managers, Production and Plant Managers)

    With chambers and trade associations related to the business like AMIA, ANIQ, INA, CIQA to have a deeper understanding of trends in the market/industry.

    With Trans-loading sites, Carriers and Railroad companies, external Warehouses.

    Qualifications:

  • Incumbent must have at least Bachelor's degree preferably in a technical discipline such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial/Technical Marketing and a minimum of 7- 10 years working experience. Must have a strong understanding of the different EP industries and dynamics of the customers.
  • It is imperative and fundamental for the incumbent to understand the automotive business model and the way decisions are made, to achieve the optimum volume / profit with the minimum resources or efforts.
  • The incumbent must have a willingness to travel and work with a global, regional & local teams of professionals.
  • Good communications skills are a must as the incumbent will be involved with every part of the organization.
  • Successful job performance depends on the ability to lead and motivate customer's technical people to use or accept our products and services in order to get sales and profitability targets.
  • Business fluent spoken and written English and Spanish is required.
  • Self-motivated, achievement oriented and team player.
  • Proficient computer skills.

    Create opportunities (growth) for at least 500 ton

    Contribute to EP annual growth rate based on Covestro Management targets

    - other non financial magnitude describing the complexity of the position (e.g. number of clients, administrative reports, products or projects):

    Manages more than 40 EP customers and more than 50 EP products.

    Monitor and maintain the EP market position in the country

    Report technical business status on a monthly basis.
