Job Summary


The Tool Room Supervisor is responsible for manage the correct functionality of the injection molding tools, RF Dies and Metal Stamping Dies, to have the operational equipment in excellent conditions.

Implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance tools/molds methodologies and manage an excellent customer service culture to all the different internal departments.


Strong skills and broad knowledge of machining practices and fundamentals, which include machine operations, fixtures development and molds/tools configuration for different techs such as plastic injection molding, Radio Frequency Welding and Metal Stamping with high critical analysis during the operation.


High knowledge on CNC's equipment's, tooling grinders, saws, drillers equipment's, lathes, vertical mills and EDM machines and others similar tool room equipment's.


Responsibilities

  • Develops short
- and long-term strategies to rapidly reduce labor/time during the tools/molds configuration process and reduce quality concerns of internal process (i.e. flashes, sink marks, high ejector pins, FR weak or over welding, etc.)

  • Analyze existing manufacturing data and implement methodologies into the Tool Room area for monitor improvements or advances regarding tools/molds returns, quality issues or configurations opportunities.
  • Ensures that the configuration process for each products family are correctly documented and internal people trained for prevent future quality or damage tools concerns. This includes internal process mapping, removing waste and lowvalue activities during the configuration process and recommended solutions.
  • Coordinates and leads Tool Room key projects like productivity/cost savings activities including supervising team members and collaborating with managers or molding process engineers.
  • Implement & drive an internal excellent customer service culture into the Tool Room area.
  • Serves as coach who coordinate team trainings, openly sharing their guidance and technical expertise for ensure & prevent future or repetitive configurations or repairs problems.
  • Uses his experience and good judgment with the rests of his partners or internal departments for accomplish goals and mitigate/reduce critical molding problems.
  • Assists in developing plans to improve efficiency of internal processes by repairing and/or modifying tools that operate inefficiently. Support to Engineering groups in develop and configures NPIs mold or tools for meet design requirements (i.e. tool steel, heat treat, tool geometry, tool construction techniques, dimensional analysis, etc.).

Qualifications - Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or any other related engineering area.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience with personnel supervision, development of local suppliers' tools/molds repairs and analytical experience on tools/molds configuration.
  • Bilingual at English intermediate level preferable.
  • Strong skills on CAD-CAM software.
  • Possess Supervisory and leadership experience in Tool Room area for a minimum of 10 years with proven results of improvements in quality & production tools/molds delivery.
  • Highly analytical and experienced with tools/repairs analysis, using their problemsolving skills to foresee obstacles and make strategic decisions.
  • Ability to facilitate and lead internal customer service support with all departments aligned or focused with the Tool Room area.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of managers, supervisors and/or engineering molding groups.

Education:


  • Bachelor's (preferred)

Experience:

- on CNC, grinders, saws, drillers, lathes, vertical mills: 4 years (preferred)

  • Superv experience and analytical on tools/molds config: 10 years (preferred)

Language:

- intermediate English level (preferred)
