Summary:
The USAID Office in Mission in Mexico is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for an Administrative Clerk/Chauffeur position.

The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (40 hours per week)

Duties:


This position reflects the needs of a medium-sized Mission in a large country, wherein significant transportation resources are most efficiently available from consulates located relatively closer to the work of our implementing partners.

Resultantly, this position primarily serves as Executive Office (EXO) Administrative Clerk and liaison for all USAID/Mexico requests for ICASS services, ensuring services are delivered fully and according to service standards.

Performing a wide range of administrative support activities for the USAID/Mexico office and the EXO office, including voucher processing, administrative approvals, events logistics and support, mailroom services and supplies services.

In addition, the incumbent serves as the Chauffeur to the Mission Director and secondarily to other staff of USAID/Mexico.

Incumbent operates Motor Pool and USAID-owned vehicles (including a USAID-dedicated armored vehicle) in support of the program, administrative, and representational responsibilities of the Mission.

Physical Demands:
The main work environment does not involve undue physical demands.

The alternate workplace (driving) with some exposure to heat, cold, noise, and hazards, driving conditions (unpaved roads, constant traffic), potential car collisions and all other hazards related to driving an AV vehicle.

The incumbent may participate in temporary duty (TDY) travel to visit implementing partners work sites and other Missions.


Post Entry Training:
Incumbent will receive training in defensive driving maneuvers and on-the-job training for USAID-specific policies and procedures.

The incumbent maintains a yearly physical examination with the Embassy Health Unit to ensure s/he is proven healthy to operate a USG-owned vehicle.

Education:
A high school degree is required. Professional driver's training and Mexican driver license (tipo A) are required.

Prior Work Experience:
A minimum of two years of administrative, secretarial, clerical experience with a U.S. Government Agency, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), other donor organizations, host-government organizations, or private-sector institutions is required.

Additionally a minimum of three years of professional driving experience for medium-sized firms or institutions is required and a minimum of two years of experience driving armored vehicles for the U.S.

Job Knowledge:

Strong knowledge of administrative support, should be familiar, or able to quickly become familiar with Division responsibilities and activities and possess a general knowledge of standard office procedures and practices.

Knowledge of Mexico traffic laws is required.

Knowledge of traffic patterns throughout the city as well as various GoM offices/facilities, implementing partner offices and project sites are required.

Hands-on knowledge and experience operating a 4-WD vehicle is also required.

Must know how to exercise safety and security procedures in potential situations that could be targets of criminal or terrorist activities.

Basic knowledge of first aid and auto mechanics is required. The Incumbent must be able to read manufacturers operating manuals and complete forms accurately and legibly. The Incumbent must be able to understand and follow instructions in
