JOB PURPOSE:

To perform operational and tactical work to meet plant logistics deliverables.


JOB DUTIES:


Working under the direction of Procurement Manager/Matl Req Planning Supv, ensure material is shipped, received, stored, or delivered quickly and efficiently.

Perform tasks to improve inbound material flow.

Using the CPS Guiding Principles, participate in continuous improvement projects:


  • Manage material to PFEPdefined flow paths
  • Support RCCA process as it relates to material availability/supplier performance
  • Support efforts to improve carrier quality and container scheduling and availability
  • Collaborating (schedule collaboration) with nominated suppliers in order to meet ontime shipping performance and parts availability targets.
  • Support Supplier Development activities and Supply Chain Optimization initiatives if required.
  • Performing all necessary expediting functions to fill customer back orders and minimize service loss.
  • Proactively communicating with suppliers (Purchased Finished, WDO, Indirect Material or Cat Manufacturing Plants) as required, and
  • Making informed decisions on the appropriate action to take for specific schedules, including creating, maintaining, and deleting schedules after collaborating with the supplier. Balancing the needs of the customer with supplier constraints and concerns.
  • Ensuring all workload items are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Identifying and gaining participation of global team members and other necessary resources needed to accomplish work tasks.
  • Data cleansing efforts to ensure accurate leadtime, economic order quantity (EOQ), increment quantities, bracket pricing, minimum order quantities, etc.
  • Participate in 6 Sigma & CPS activities to continually improve processes.
Investigate and/or support root causes process and perform corrective action to resolve material availability/supplier performance issues. File carrier loss and damaged freight claims and monitor.


This position maintains tactical management for inventory levels; the incumbent is responsible to validate and update periodically the safety stock quantities according to current demand, procedures and work instructions.

Follow up supplier deliveries and performs tasks that support carrier collaboration, administers returnable container programs. Responsible for ensuring availability of purchased finish components, raw material, subcontract and/or indirect material.

Incumbent services production area needs in off shift hours.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:


  • Knowledge and understanding of 6 Sigma project management principles
  • Good analytical and problemsolving skills
  • College or university degree related to Supply Chain, or equivalent experience, is required
  • Minimum of one year of supply chain or related field job experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, organization, and communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures
  • Must have the commitment & flexibility to participate as a key member of a global team
  • Applicants must be selfmotivated, open minded, and customer focused, and have strong organizational skills.
