JOB SUMMARY & ACCOUNTABILITIES:


The Senior Production Supervisor / 2 nd Shift coordinator will be responsible for the overall safety, quality, service, cost productivity, and employee morale of the assigned department.

This can be a production line or manufacturing cell, a group of lines or an entire shift. The Senior Production Supervisor serves as a liaison to management on manufacturing, quality, process and engineering related issues.

Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of Production Supervisors and/or operators, such as inspectors, assemblers, fabricators, machine, tool setters, test and other plant and system operators.

A successful Supervisor can anticipate and adapt to change, and make the required adjustments to schedules.


A successful Coordinator / Superivsor promotes two-way communication, fosters organizational culture and values, assesses the operators' performance, develops them, and seeks continuous improvement in his/her work area.


  • Enforce Safety and Environmental regulations.
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods, such as assembly, inspectors, machines and fabricators.
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals. Maintain capacity plans to meet or change as required.
  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Observe work and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.
  • Conduct employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures, or assign employee training to experienced workers.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
  • Keep records of employees' attendance and hours worked.
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs. In partnership with Management develop solutions, programs and procedures.
  • Communicate daily the customer's order status and corrective actions required to maintain schedule and quality. Prepare action plans to recover production or past dues.
  • Capable to manage a new product line or participate in product transfer projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:


Minimum Qualifications:
(education, experience level, knowledge, skills, designations/certifications).

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Manufacturing, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in manufacturing or engineering. Experience in Industrial, Automotive, Health care, Telecommunications, Fabrication, or Electrical Power Generation a plus.
  • Bilingual 80% English Spanish.
  • MS Office (Word, Excel)
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP system.
  • Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
  • Personnel and Human Resources — Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, safety and labor relations
