Purpose


To perform a variety of quality tasks related to the development and implementation of methods, procedures and equipment that support the Caterpillar Quality Management System (QMS).

This paper is primarily a quality reagent paper that responds to the daily problems encountered in manufacturing facilities.


Responsibilities:


  • Typical steps include collecting/analyzing quality data and investigating the nonconformance to determine a permanent resolution.
  • Execute global quality processes.
  • Coordinate and carry out internal quality audits.
  • Manage area metrics.
  • Write and submit local training and documentation as needed.
  • Support certification activities.
  • Perform shortterm quality activities, such as responding to print interpretation requests, deviation requests, engineering changes, inspection methods, etc.
  • Coordinate various quality training programs as well as the sample parts program.
  • Identify, analyze and resolve nonconformities.
  • Investigates problems in worked, purchased, finished, rough and interplant material.
  • Coordinate longterm research programs as needed.
  • Research, develop and implement electronic administrative or data management systems to increase the capacity and efficiency of the division.
  • Generates regular reports on the quality status of highvalue suppliers and any significant trends indicated by the data.
  • Provide technical expertise in the analysis, development, and implementation of new and revised instructional systems and methods.
  • The position is a specialist within the group and provides interpretation and problemsolving advice to others within and outside the department.

Requirements:


  • The position requires knowledge of various engineering, manufacturing and/or maintenance standards and practices.
  • Personal computer skills and familiarity with various software packages are required.
  • Education: Engineering
  • Minimum experience of two to four years.
  • Good human relations skills are required to develop a cooperative working relationship with others inside and outside the department.
  • English: Advanced
