Embedded Software Engineer

Who we are:

For over 20 years LER has been working with customers across North America to meet their engineering resource challenges.


We have a position for an electrical or embedded software engineer who has experience with embedded C software in order to support and develop software in the AutoSAR BSW layer.


Job Location :

Local to the LER TechForce office in Guadalajara, MX area and capable to travel into building depending on project needs, approximately 2 days in the office weekly.


What you will be doing:


Initially, this team will automate how to create a baseline from other programs' base software to jump start a new platform.

This team will be working on creation of these baselines/new platform BSWs (incorporating new SIPs from Vector - making changes to BSW) creating new BSWs for all sorts of power (fuel cell, hydrogen, diesel, compressed natural gas, EV, etc.,).

The remaining deliverables will be to develop low level engine control module software in Autosar.

  • Creating scripts to generate a baseline configuration.
  • Development of electronic control modules for motors
  • Development of complex device drivers
  • Work closely with software and system engineers to develop control module software.
  • Make modifications to existing functions initiated by Defect/Change Request, maintaining backward product compatibility.
  • Nonvolatile Memory
  • Software level testing and validation testing
  • Assure all engineering technical data is complete and accurately documented, establish and maintain technical files per the engineering processes, be cognizant of applicable certifications and product requirements.
  • Thoroughly document work performed via DCR system evaluations, and necessary technical reports.
  • Create and update SRSs (Software Requirements Specification
  • Support Problem Report/Change Requests from other team members and different teams
  • Prepare and give technical presentations on completed DCRs to crossfunctional teams
  • C/C++ embedded software development
  • Python scripting
  • Compilers and linkers
  • Microcontrollers such as Infineon and NXP
  • AUTOSAR I/O Hardware Abstraction Layer
  • AUTOSAR Complex Driver
  • Vector DaVinci Configurator
  • Vector DaVinci Developer
  • Good communicator written and verbal

What you'll need to be successful:

  • College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines. Mechanical Engineering degree HIGHLY preferred as well as 2 or more years of hands-on experience.
  • Implementing Lowlevel driver and diagnostic routines for the I/O (PWM, Analogs, Discrete, frequency inputs, Hbridge, Brushless Motors)
  • Infineon or NXP microcontrollers
  • UDS, KWP, or J1939 protocols
  • Some type of version control software such as Clearcase, GIT, Integrity
  • 35 years coding experience in some type of programming language such as C/C++
  • Training on AutoSAR will be provided
