The GL department supports The LEGO Group with consistent, high quality and customer oriented execution of GL processes and team member management, and thereby enables the BSO to succeed in delivering great value to the LEGO organization.


Accountable for:

Provide data, analysis and advice vital to support financial business partners / business in decision making process. Financial Controlling of the assigned legal entities.

Provide information to external auditors and Tax team. Consolidation Reports for legal entities.

Analyse financial statements/ annual reports. Statuary financial statements preparation.


Functional expertise in BSO, where you as Specialist have the main responsibility of providing info around specific GL areas to report/account Financial Statements.

Participate in the LEGO tactical implementation plan to reach the team objectives.

Constantly strive to optimize processes and work procedures using the LEGO Continuous improvement approach across functional areas

Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations (local GAAPS and IFRS)


Using Activity Based Working, actively taking part in creating a culture that inspires to collaboration, encourage knowledge sharing and incorporates exciting "New Ways of Working" in the every day.

Building and strengthening basic team member relations across areas and geographies including collaboration and culture to contribute to the One Global Team (incl. all CFO Organisation areas)

Understanding partners needs

Managing more sophisticated execution of GL processes in a timely, efficient and accurate manner, including

Monthly and Yearly closing - Review distribution expenses, cost of goods sold and gross profit margins for reasonableness

Performance of the key controls, identification of the control weaknesses, suggestions for improvements

Booking economic transactions and operations

Reconciliations (accounts, intercompany, payroll, etc.) and translating business transactions into journal entries in accordance with IFRS to ensure all accounts are properly stated in Legal books

The LEGO Business Service Operations (BSO) is a shared service center that delivers HR and Finance services to the entire LEGO Group from 3 locations; Monterrey, Kladno and Singapore.

The purpose of the BSO is to create an effective and efficient platform for growth to support our strategy and reach twice as many kids over the next 5-7 years.


The General Ledger (GL) department interacts with great parts of the LEGO organisation and therefore holds an important role within the Business Service Operations (BSO) supporting the EMEA region.


The team is responsible for compliant handling of the general ledger and all engagements related hereto, which involves natural interaction with a broad range of both internal and external collaborators.


The departmental focus is to:

  • Make sure we live our partner promise by ensuring high quality, stewardship and full compliance with the LEGO Groups current Accounting Policy and global processes.
  • Ensure timely, accurate and reliable transactional data recorded in general ledger and timely reconciliation of all accounts
  • Support internal and external team members with insightful and valueadding financial analyses, recurring statements and reporting bringing value to the overall business

Do you have what it takes?
Preferred MSc degree in Accounting, Finance, Administration or related.

  • App. 35 years of demonstrated working experience from Accounting function
- +2 years of proven experience gained in a similar role

  • Experience with an enterprise wide accounting software system, preferably SAP
  • Microsoft Office at experienced level
  • Analytical, detail and highquality oriented
  • Be robust, resilient and ability to embrace changes, as well as having a proactive mind with a cando attitude.
  • Personal drive and initiative, excellent collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility with assigned business areas or other key team members
  • SAP experience at advanced level is preferred
  • Preferably confirmed working experience in International accounting environment
  • Audit experience is an advantage
