Minimum qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 10 years of experience working with the government, think tanks, public interest groups, technology industry groups, or corporations on challenges related to technology policy concerns
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish and English fluently

Preferred qualifications:


  • Experience working with crossfunctional teams and stakeholders, and executing strategies to deliver solutions
  • Experience shaping public policy to proactively address business needs
  • Experience with tech industry and tech related policies, analyzing, studying, providing insights, or advocating for digitalrelated policies, both at national and/or LATAM levels
  • Ability to identify/gather insights and communicate complex technology policy issues
  • Ability to illustrate topics including intermediary liability, data privacy and governance, AI, digital/audiovisual content, or digital market competition and regulation
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment, think and move quickly, and manage multiple highpriority projects simultaneously

About the job:


As a member of Google's Government Affairs and Public Policy team, you'll be part of a diverse global government affairs team, working across regions, product areas, and functions.

You'll combine creativity and intellectual excellence with the organizational skills to manage various campaigns, projects and initiatives.

In this role, you'll advocate for Google to bring external perspectives back into the company to inform our perception and direction.

We lead Google's strategy and external advocacy for policies that encourage choice, safety, innovation, and growth with a particular eye to Google's platforms and devices businesses.


In this role, you will be on our newly formed Strategic Offense team in GAPP, focused on mobile and web platforms (Android, Chrome, Play) and devices (Pixel).

Our team is charged with building the regulatory and legislative playing field for the future, changing public policy to encourage greater choice, safety, innovation, and growth - for Google's own business and the people and partners we serve.


Responsibilities:


  • Envision and build Google policy strategy and advocacy for the future by setting an ambitious and practical policy agenda, with clear desired outcomes, and a set of tactics to achieve those outcomes.
  • Use the full global affairs toolbox to move towards the objectives including skillful policy arguments, keen political instincts, building relationships with policy stakeholders, technology, and business community.
  • Serve on a global team with a warm, collaborative spirit.
  • Engage directly with policymakers, industry players, think tanks, civil society, and key opinion formers to shape policy and political dialogue on Google's policy efforts. Work closely with Legal, Communications, Marketing, and other teams across Google both locally and internationally to execute on policy priorities.
