Responsibilities:


  • Liaise with analysts and the lead editor to organize all work produced by the Americas desk.
  • Edit, format and provide critical feedback where appropriate on output produced by analysts and consultants for both online subscription products and consulting projects. Adapt content where necessary.
  • Monitor regional developments to ensure consistency and depth of coverage and to identify issues of interest to Control Risks' clients.
  • Monitor regional risk ratings and suggest changes where appropriate.
  • Liaise with analysts across the region to ensure that online content is regularly reviewed and up to date. Keep a record of progress, including through the use of online tracking systems.
  • Assess ways of improving readability for online output and reports, including through the use of graphics.
  • Edit and proof other types of documents as required.

Requirements:


  • At least three years validated experience of operating successfully in an editorial position
  • Knowledge of/interest in current affairs
  • Interest in the Americas region
  • Nativelevel English speaker
  • Excellent written English skills
  • Copy editing to house style
  • Proofreading
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Degreelevel education or equivalent
  • Knowledge of graphics packages
  • Experience of using content management system (CMS)
  • Shows initiative, contributing solutions or new ways of doing things
  • Clear, committed and delivers on what is required in role and strives to exceed expectations
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Shows drive and determination to achieve high standards
  • Uses own knowledge and experience to make sound judgments
  • Works with colleagues, including those inoffice and across the region, in a cooperative and supportive manner to achieve joint aims

  • Communicates clearly both verbally and in writing. Capable of planning and organizing own workload, prioritizing when necessary.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet internal deadlines
