Job Description:

The tool and Die Maker position have as objective to maintain and control all tools, dies and coil shop tooling for HVAC and stamping machinery.

As well need to coordinate and schedule activities at both annual and semi-annual shutdowns.

The Tool & Die Maker position is the responsible for maintaining tooling indicators up to date and for establishing follow-up programs for all the information related to improvements and the reduction of overtime, scrap and down times and establish maintenance routines per every single die, also improve tool room resources.

The Tool and Dies position is able to establish and maintain effective working relationships all internal customers including but not limited to production area, maintenance, coworkers and supervisors.

Under general direction, designs, builds and repairs complex tools, jigs, fixtures, welding, brazing and assembly fixtures.
Analyses specifications, laysout metal stock, sets up and operates a wide variety of exact tolerance machine tools.
Fits and assembles parts to fabricate and repair metal working dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and machinists' hand tools.
Modifies dies to conform to engineering changes.
Troubleshoots equipment and makes complex repairs.
Aids and guidance to apprentices and lower, level employees.

Qualifications:

Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requires at least 5year related experience.
May require a journeyman's card or equivalent.
Requires strong mathematical and analytical abilities.
Able to efficiently and accurately setup and operate to exacting, tolerance, manual or CNC machine tools.
Able to diagnose complex progressive, forming, and stamping dies. Able to make repair as instructed on any stamping or forming dies. Must possess the ability to accurately use measurement devices such as scales, callipers, indicators, micrometres, squares, surface plates, optical comparators, and gages.
Able to work from blueprints, diagrams, sketcher, schematics, charts, or verbal instructions. Knows how to tear down, units, trouble shoot for problems, determine extent of troubles, repair damage mechanism or replace worn or defective parts and reassemble.
Must be able to select the best material suited for specific purposes, troubleshoot, and diagnose problems with metalworking dies and other.
