    Legal Advice

  • Will serve as primary legal and compliance advisor providing, serving as strategic business partner and provide cross-functional advise on all corporate transactions.
  • Responsible to identify legal issues within the business and provide legal analysis and possible legal solutions and give recommendations for addressing critical legal and policy issues in order to ensure that the business's legal obligations and overall objectives are met.
  • Protect the business interest by offering the best legal counsel in all its operations and legal transactions that include: contracting process (customers / suppliers), corporate transactions, handling litigation and external counsel's management.
  • Conduct robust risk assessments that substantiate recommendations and advise on and determine appropriate actions to support the management decision making processes.
  • Offers advice to departmental leaders across the business on applicable laws and the interpretation of legal documents in a manner that avails a practical legal approach while properly managing the risks to the business.
  • Ensuring that the business responds appropriately to any legislative changes and deals with all complex legal transactions, identifying legal issues and offering the business and its consumers optimum solutions.
  • Guide, counsel and support the work of more junior Legal counsels, paralegals, and support staff.

    • Provide expertise in one or more substantive areas (e.g., Transactions, Litigation, HR and Regulatory & lead legal projects and transactions (i.e.: Licensing and Divestment).

    • Lead and direct the legal resources across all divisions in the country.
  • Manage 2 lawyers and day by day agenda handling various drafting tasks, inclusive of quarterly/annual board meetings, proxy statement development etc.
  • The Legal Manager additionally prepares various complex contracts and develops and documents standard terms and conditions for the different business areas.
  • Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the whole GLBG team reviewing, negotiating and interpreting a wide array of business/corporate agreements.
  • Lead and coordinate legal team members activities and agenda like standard improvements on contracts, approval processes and training.
  • Work with the business's consumers by clearly and effectively providing timely and practical legal advice on any complex issues that they may have.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision, making decisions on strict deadlines.
  • Manage the Mexican Business Integrity Program, in liaison with the Global Compliance Officer.
  • Coordinate legal efforts and outside counsel in several countries in Central America and the Caribbean.
  • Qualified candidates will have:

  • Law Degree from an accredited law school
  • A t least 10 years of working experience in a legal corporate environment as in-house
  • Exceptionally good communication skills both in written and verbal form, 100% bilingual English.
  • Experience working on corporate governance issues as well as experience working at all levels of management consulting with senior business leadership and stakeholders.
  • Strategic and creative thinker, result oriented as well as detail oriented.
