    BASIC FUNCTION

    Reportingto the Manager - Quality to define, prioritize, andimplement project strategy. Will lead teams and negotiate for resources toProblem Solving practices for Safety, People, Quality, Delivery and Cost (ProblemSolving support and coach to plant) cost reduction projects to a successful andtimely completion. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Theessential functions of this position include but are not limited to:
    Is an expert at diagnostics to drive the real root cause of a challenge so the solution is addressed at the source. They think with clarity and logic, identify and connect seemingly disparate information sources to get a holistic picture and define the problem clearly. Is the owner to Research involve being able to gather information from the right sources, reviewing that information in detail to extract the data you need, analyzing the data according to the context, and being able to apply the data to your situation. Responsible for working with and collaborating with other Managers and plants outside of their home base site as needed for problem solving. Create a training to development Problem solving tools for the plant. StrategicDevelopment of the Lean Six Sigma deployment within Kohler. Createorganizational consensus to drive continuous improvement planning,organization, and reporting. Develop and implement resource plans,development roadmaps, and project selection strategies in coordinationwith corporate strategic direction. Develop reporting methods andstructure to ensure visibility into Continuous Improvement results, withrelevant connection to business goals. Establish relationships with seniormanagement to align priorities and objectives.
    Methodologymaster. Guide the organization through growth in the ability to recognizeroot cause and put sustainable solutions in place utilizing the DMAICmethod. Integrate problem solving methodologies within the multiple Kohlerbusiness units globally into one cohesive problem-solving method.
    Changeagent. Assist the Kohler Operating System by providing guidance in LeanSix Sigma and continuous improvement as the method of achieving Kohler'sstrategic goals. Engage functional business leaders to staff and trainassociates and adopt Lean and continuous improvement as a daily mindset,with the long-term goal that every associate be a CI associate.
    SystemOwner. Own and maintain a portion of the Kohler Operating System.Benchmark internally and externally to determine best practices and applythem to system development. Liaise with business unit KOS representativesto ensure rigorous implementation within the businesses. Assess individualoperations and businesses against KOS.
    Trainand Coach. Be an expert trainer and coach for the Lean Six Sigma (LSS)method within Kohler. Review and maintain the Continuous Improvementcompetency model. Train individuals in all LSS tools and methodologies, upto and including certification of Black Belt candidates. Coach and mentorcandidates to project completion.
    Drive Project Execution. Own and drive businessunit and enterprise-level improvement projects to completion. Ensure rigorousapplication of the DMAIC methodology to deliver step-level improvements.

    • Bachelor's Degreerequired: Engineering focus strongly preferred.
    • Minimum 5 years ofexperience working directly with six sigma tools and methods in a LEANmanufacturing system. Minimum 3 years work as a Master Black Belt.

    • Broad knowledge andapplication experience with LEAN, process improvement, structured problemsolving, core tools, Opex, Red-X, Deming Cycle, TQM tools and methods.
    • Demonstrated projectmanagement excellence. Track record of results.
    • Strategic businessacumen and deployment: taking creative action in solving problems whileexhibiting judgment and a strategic systematic approach to decision-making.
    • Excellent teamfacilitation skills. Build teams in a collaborative work style: Previoussuccessful experience in team building and motivating others.
    • Strong Leadershipand Change Agent skills.
    • Able to communicateeffectively with others and establish credibility.
    • Able to overcomeobstacles using positive facilitation, teamwork, and influence through buildingand maintaining relationships.
