    The IT Business Consultant is a high-level "technology generalist" who provides guidance and advice to a client base and leadership as the primary liaison between business units and the applications development/management organization. Performs business and systems analysis to support the selection, development, implementation, integration, and support of applications to meet short- and long-term business needs. Provides strategic business process/reengineering consulting as appropriate and typically works on multiple, technically complex, mission-critical, and/or high-profile projects.

    Your Role Accountabilities:

    Technology Process Analysis and Solutioning

    · Using proficiency in both business and applications knowledge, investigate and recommend custom or packaged software solutions that support business needs while maximizing long-term viability and scalability of enterprise applications.

    · Facilitate prioritization or feasibility of IT projects and make recommendations to management.

    · Liaison between the client group and IT organization in an "expert" or consulting capacity to create project charters and proposals, service level agreements ("SLA"), and maintenance level agreements ("MLA").

    · Demonstrate an understanding of the departmental cost model and utilization principles and ensure that team efforts are effectively allocated per the project charter/SLA/MLA.

    · Work with project and customer management to facilitate communication between IT and business units, including open issues, project prioritization, resolutions, project requests, functional support, and resource allocation. Facilitate cooperation and rationalization of unclear or conflicting goals, assist in identifying and communicating viable alternatives, and assist in the implementation of decisions.

    · Participate in strategic application/technology discussions to determine long-range business solutions.

    · Assist business units with defining business processes, identifying potential areas for ongoing improvement or re-engineering, and implementing solutions that utilize technology to enhance efficiency and productivity.

    · Facilitate, coordinate, and support IT initiatives by drawing upon specialist areas of expertise such as applications development, web development, systems architecture, quality assurance, etc. Solicit input from all appropriate parties to ensure technical solutions are consistent with enterprise direction.

    · May perform hands-on Analyst role by documenting and analyzing requirements (e.g. business system, integrations, security, conversion, and report), developing functional design and document specifications, and assisting with conversion, testing, training, and other project needs throughout the development life cycle. IT Liaison Between Business and Technology

    · Collaborate with the Implementation Project Manager to set direction for the functional strategy of an assigned project.

    · Provide direction on documented requirements (e.g., business system, security, conversion, and reporting) to determine feasibility and recommend business process improvements.

    · Provide direction to software developers in creating a functional design. Project Management

    · Hands-on PM role for small-scale initiatives not requiring a full project team by developing project plans, cost estimates, or other resource estimates; providing direction to matrixed project resources as necessary; and preparing for contingencies.

    Qualifications & Experiences:

    · Minimum of 5 years Information Technology experience with Legal applications

    · Experience managing small IT projects or directing resources on large project tasks.

    · Strong written and verbal, communication skills

    · Demonstrated ability to successfully perform the various aspects of the Analyst and IT Liaison

    role across multiple, complex system implementations with custom and third-party applications.

    · Ability to work as part of a self-directed team, in which you determine your tasks daily in coordination with co-workers, rather than waiting for work to be assigned.

    · In depth understanding of application architecture and custom web application development projects

    · In depth understanding of with structured development methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile (SDLC)

    · In depth understanding of with relational databases and queries

    · An understanding of API and web service integration concepts

    · Advanced skills using the MS Office suite and process modeling tools.

    · Customer centric focus

    · Strong technical acumen

    Not Required but preferred experience:

    · Strong understanding of the ITIL best practices

    · Drive and passion to make a difference in the organization.

    · Functional management and project management experience

    · Experience with iManage, eDocs, LawManager, Avvoka, CounselLink, eCounsel and Adobe Sig
