    At Degento Consulting, we are partnering with a fast-growing logistics company to identify a high-impact Operations Manager who will lead and optimize end-to-end transportation operations, ensuring service excellence, cost efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance.

    This role is ideal for a hands-on operations leader with strong experience managing fleet, drivers, and complex logistics environments.

    Role Purpose

    To lead, coordinate, and optimize transportation and logistics operations, ensuring operational continuity, service level compliance, cost control, fleet availability, and team performance, while contributing directly to business profitability and sustainable growth.

    Key Responsibilities

    Operations Management

    • Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily transportation operations (routes, trips, circuits, units, and drivers).
    • Ensure optimal allocation and utilization of fleet, drivers, and operational resources.
    • Monitor and ensure service level compliance (OTIF, delivery times, incidents, claims).
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and operational efficiency.

    Fleet & Asset Management

    • Oversee fleet availability, preventive and corrective maintenance.
    • Coordinate with internal maintenance teams and external suppliers.
    • Control fleet-related costs: fuel, maintenance, spare parts, accidents, and insurance.

    People & Performance Management

    • Lead supervisors, dispatchers, and operational teams.
    • Ensure effective workforce management: schedules, shifts, productivity, and attendance.
    • Support performance-based compensation and incentive schemes tied to operational KPIs.
    • Foster a strong culture of safety, discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement.

    Compliance & Safety

    • Ensure compliance with labor, transportation, and safety regulations.
    • Enforce internal policies and road safety standards.
    • Manage incidents, accidents, and claims, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.

    Reporting & Analysis

    • Define and track operational KPIs: cost per trip/km, fleet utilization, productivity, turnover, absenteeism, accident rates.
    • Prepare executive-level operational reports.
    • Identify operational risks and propose mitigation plans.

    Cross-functional & Client Coordination

    • Work closely with key clients to ensure operational commitments are met.
    • Collaborate with HR, Finance, Maintenance, and IT teams.
    • Support operational transformation and digital initiatives (ERP, TMS, telematics, reporting tools).
    Key Performance Indicators
    • On-time and in-full delivery (OTIF).
    • Cost per trip / cost per kilometer.
    • Fleet availability and utilization.
    • Accident and incident rates.
    • Driver productivity and efficiency.
    • Compliance and audit results.
    Candidate Profile

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Transportation, Business Administration, or related field.
    • Advanced studies in logistics, operations, or supply chain are a plus.

    Experience

    • 5–7+ years in operations or logistics leadership roles.
    • Proven experience managing transportation operations, drivers, and fleet.
    • Strong background in cost control, KPIs, and continuous improvement.

    Technical Knowledge

    • Transportation and logistics operations.
    • Labor and transportation regulations.
    • Operational KPIs and budgeting.
    • ERP / TMS / telematics systems (preferred).
    • Risk management and road safety.
