Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking
Supplier Quality Readiness Specialist to join our newly created Supplier Readiness team at locations in Mexicali, Tijuana, or Chihuahua Mexico.


The primary function of this role will be to drive improvements in Supplier Quality performance, relating to product conformance and Quality Management System compliance, and leading corrective action initiatives as needed in order to obtain these objectives.

The role reports to the BCA Supplier Quality Senior Manager of the Supplier Readiness team.


Our team members enjoy and meet the challenges of working remotely, with requirements to travel up to 75% of the time to different supplier locations.

Position Responsibilities:


  • Support Regional Operations SQRs to ensure supplier's Quality Management System (QMS) compliance with Boeing requirements
  • Plans and conducts Boeing review of supplier's First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR)
  • Plans and conducts prevention assessment such as Requirement Consumption Reviews (RCR)
  • Be proactively engaged with current and new suppliers to ensure First Time Quality (FTQ)
  • Ensures suppliers have proper process in place to assess and mitigate/eliminate quality risks associated with Work Transfer movements
  • Assists with assessments of supplier capability and capacity to perform current or potential future work
  • Documents and reports audit and assessment results in coordination with Regional Operations SQRs for any assessments performed
  • Monitors quality improvement initiatives at supplier; develops training materials and other resources to support improvements in supplier performance and productivity
  • Report supplier's quality risks and opportunities to leadership
  • Able to travel up to 75% of the time.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):


  • Must be legally able to work in Mexico
  • Proficient in the Spanish and English languages
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in an accredited course of study
  • 5+ years of experience in quality and/or manufacturing processes and organizations
  • 3+ years of experience with monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
  • 3+ years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications
  • 3+ years of experience with working root cause and corrective action analysis and implementation of acceptable preventative action
  • Able to travel up to 75% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
  • Knowledge of assembly and production processes, manufacturing capabilities (e.g., structures, systems, composites, etc.)
  • Strong affinity for coaching and mentoring suppliers on products/process requirement from engineering and specifications
  • Strong supplier quality development background
  • Lean or lean six sigma experience (leading or coleading teams with value stream mapping and shop floor standard work events)
  • Working knowledge of various quality tools and processes such as APQP, FMEA, control plans, SPC, FAI, RCCA
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Typical Education/Experience:

Typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).
