Responsible for the volume and acreage planning activities for Corn and Sorghum, Commercial and Parent Seeds at product level.

Accountable for following the crop chain from end to end, anticipating trends, analyzing scenarios and possible mitigation plans and proposing solutions.

Coordinates with Supply Chain Manager the recommendations for growing areas, optimal suppliers, risk exposure and acreage growing plans. Identify and develop consistent business process improvements related to crop planning and systems.

Interfaces with Field Production, Research, Parent characterization, Production Research, Demand and several other stakeholders to develop supply plans at a product level reliably, profitably and sustainably.

Apply/Align supply chain concepts (RRACA/CTS/RF/5YP). Coordinate with global planning team and sourcing countries the full connection to ensure reliability.


Activities

  • Alignment of IBP plans (demand, inventory, growing plan) with product level MPS, emphasis on 3 years of planning cycle (current year, +1 and +2).
  • Volume planning (determination of net new crop requirements) and inventory tracking at product level. Work cross functionally in advance with locations to maximize yields through planting window.
  • Rationalization and inventory optimization, following the macro strategies.
  • Detailed acreage planning including assignment of products by location, budget yields, budget conversions. Budget yield alignment with other areas (Production, Production Research, Parent Characterization) as well as Risk Factors. Creating and updating crop records in systems (i.e. trades, imports, carry in, discards, budget yield, etc.)
  • Based on inputs define planting priorities, ISO/Quality Management System and quality requirements based on market specifications (local/exports).
  • Check parent seed (PS) inventory available and Based on CY, CY+1 and CY+2 estimate PS volume plan to attend products demand. Coordinates parent seed import/export need estimates based on acreage plan.
  • Coordinates sign off meeting for the volume and acreage plans defining assumptions, constraints and parameters being considered. Summarizes risks to the team so mitigation plans can be developed and implemented on time.
  • From planting to harvest maintain updated the team in terms of planned vs actual planting and harvest dates. Maintain team informed about Harvest, ETD, ETA estimation based on most updated information.
  • Coordinates activities related to the launching process after a given hybrid has been advanced, in order to have the product available in volume and time for launching.
  • Support Supply Chain Manager and CoE Crop Planning on building a consistent cross sourcing strategy (in region production, import, exports).
  • Development, maintenance and stewardship of internal performance dashboards, reports and operational procedures. Accountable for implementing and sustain QMS policies related to Crop Planning.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Ag Business, Business Management, or equivalent field.
  • 5 years of experience in Seed Production highly desirable.
  • APICS CPIM, CSCP training (or willingness to complete) highly desirable.
  • 2 years of experience in S&OP or IBP Processes is desirable.
  • Strong communications skills, written, visual, and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively cross functionally and across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong analytical skills and business understanding, taking complex information and summarizing it in a meaningful way.
  • Ability to create and develop new ideas and strategies, evaluate scenarios, and propose solutions.
  • English advanced
  • Excel advanced | SAP intermediate | PowerBi and statistical software desirable.
