Located in our Santa Fe office and you will be focused on seeking out new clients and opportunities in markets and with customers with which Gates currently does little to no business.


  • This is an exciting opportunity for you because you will communicate the key value propositions of Gates solutions to the many industries we serve.
  • You will be doing the market analysis and segmentation to pricing and channel management, our sales team bring our brand promise to life.
  • This position is vital to Gates because every day we derive success from understanding Gates business objectives and communicating the benefits of working with us to our esteemed customers and partners.

Key responsibilities:


  • Strategize and analyze target market trends and prospect list to better target viable customers and provide efficient, ondemand support.
  • Implement distribution strategies to accelerate growth of new and additional products and/or new markets.
  • Maintain uptodate understanding of industry trends and technical developments within defined target markets.
  • Build and maintain relationship management with current and prospect customers.
  • Maintain an effective communication path with the customer to ensure sales opportunities for products.
  • Make regular sales calls to develop relationships and follow up on leads.
  • Develop and maintain long
- and short-range sales and marketing plans.

  • Maintain awareness of strategic plans and procedures to coordinate market plans.
  • Monitor and communicate sales activity to contribute to product and service planning.
  • Provide topquality, Gates customer service for all clients and prospects.
  • Implement distribution strategies to accelerate growth of new and additional products and/or new markets.
  • Monitor competitive environment to identify opportunities and countermeasures to address competition.

ABOUT YOU

  • 2 to 4 years of sales experience or equivalent industry experience.
  • College degree
  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrated with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate the company in the market.
  • Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services.
  • Solves complex problems by taking a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Works independently, receives mínimal guidance.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends best practices.
  • Requires conceptual and practical expertise in own area and general knowledge of related areas.
  • Acts as a resource for other team members; may lead projects with limited risks and resource requirements.
  • Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams; works within broad guidelines and policies.
  • Explains complex, difficult and/or sensitive information; works to build consensus.
  • Progression to this level is restricted based on business requirements.
  • Must be a selfstarter who is motivated to plan and manage customer needs.
  • Communicates complex concepts; anticipates potential objections and influences others to adopt a different point of view
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including formal presentation skills before both small and large groups.
  • Demonstrated ability in problem solving with special emphasis on closing the sale.
  • Ability to communicate openly, honestly and constructively and treat all customers with dignity and respect.
  • Frequently lifts, carries, or otherwise moves objects weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally over 50 pounds.
  • Frequently bends, stoops, climbs ladders and crouches on a regular basis.
  • Ability to drive long distances for extended periods of time.
  • Must be proficient with the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Travel required for this position is 50% 70%
