We are looking to hire a Test Engineer for our new R&D Center in Monterrey.


Position Overview:
The Software Test Equipment Engineer supports the design and maintains Electronic Test Systems.

These systems are used for validation of ZF Electronic Control Units to ensure product quality meets industry and corporate standards.

Test Engineers have a unique task that involves both theoretical and hands on work in both electronics and software development, along with task management skills.


Responsibilities:


  • Test System Development
  • Analyze OEM and ZF requirements for testing products.
  • Work closely with the product design team to understand the hardware design, and testing requirements utilized during all hardware validation stages [CV, DV and PV].
  • Maintain and augment test system software using C, C#, VB6 and CAPL (Vector based systems)
  • Design, implement and maintain automated test cases per the test requirements document, using UML and Python
  • Test System Prove Out & Maintenance
  • Perform system capability studies to prove that systems are performing within requirements, utilizing measurement electronics and statistical analysis to do so.
  • Maintain test equipment, utilizing various electronic source and measurement devices.
  • Management and Reporting
  • Plan and track test system delivery against proposed test schedules.
  • Plan, coordinate and track outsourced software development.
  • Assist with daily scheduling of tests, equipment operation, and customer visits.
  • Track testing status and process reporting data.
  • Provide failure analysis to product teams which pertain to testrelated issues.
  • Collaborate with others to continually advance test system development, utilization processes, procedures and quality.
  • Development of Vector based Configurations and Bus Simulations
  • Modify Vehicle Bus Simulations in CANoe to seamlessly work in a test environment.
  • Add test equipment specific features to the standard bus simulations like autonomous sequences, measurement requests, ZF developed HW interfaces and sequence scripting.
  • Set up test sequences using C# and vTestStudio according to customer specifications.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
  • 2+ years working in the Automotive Domain and experience working with Electronic Control Units.
  • Experience with programming in C and Python
  • Experience with Vector tools like CANoe, CANalyzer, CANape, vTestStudio, vSignalyzer and the CAPL language
  • Experience with Vehicle diagnostic protocols (UDS and XCP)
  • Experience working with Logic Analyzers / Function Generator / Oscilloscope.
  • Strong Knowledge on communication protocols used in Automotive Industry including CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, SPI, I2C, SENT.
  • Demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks ability to work independently with limited direction.
  • Requires good written and verbal correspondence with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Business English (both written and spoken).
