Turning product data into insights to support new product development, continuous product improvement, productivity enhancements, and condition monitoring.
Responsibilities
Writing analysis scripts to quickly reduce large amounts of time-series data into actionable results
Supporting numerous analytics projects simultaneously
Automating the daily analysis of new data
Migrating data analysis functions from on-premise servers to AWS cloud solutions
Degree Requirement
Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science curriculum
Skill Descriptors
Technical Analysis:
Knowledge of the concepts, methodologies, and activities in technical analysis; ability to forecast the direction of technical landscape using technical indicators and take collective actions.
Analytical Thinking:
Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking:
Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Software Development:
Knowledge of software development tools and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements.
Requirements Analysis:
Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
Basic qualifications
- Experience in analytics or engineering
- Experience using SQL, Python, and Tableau tools (or similar) for storage, analysis, and visualization of data
- Expertise in at least one coding language, preferably Python
- Exposure to cloud database technologies (AWS, Snowflake, etc.)
- Advanced English
- Experience using Lambda, SNS, and SQS in AWS
- Basic knowledge of EC2, APIGateway, and Aurora
- Experience with Git or similar version control software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with Caterpillar SuperComm2 (SC2) data
- Experience with databases such as Oracle, Snowflake, and MySQL
- Experience with or interest in mechanical systems (engines, drivetrain, axles, etc.) or Caterpillar machines or engines.
