Role Description:

The Solutions Architect will be responsible for translating the requirements created by functional analysts into the architecture for that solution and describing it through the set of architecture and design artifacts, which are used by the rest of the development team to implement the solution.

Provide architectural assessments, strategies, standard and policies of technical solutions for the new product capabilities.

The ideal person will be able to work with other Solutions, Mainframe & Core platform engineering, and Infrastructure and Enterprise Architects.

Demonstrate broad solutions & technical leadership, impacting significant technical direction, exerting influence outside of the immediate team and driving change to optimize scalability of products/platforms across all USA operations.

Job Duties:

Establish the basic structure of the system, defines essential core design features and elements that provide the framework to ensure that solutions will perform satisfactorily regarding security, maintainability, and scalability.
Work with crossfunctional technical teams within IT infrastructure and mainframe development areas within a migration project for mainframe platforms (COBOL Microfocus).
Represent Architectural team during meetings and Agile/Scrum sprints providing technical assessments, suggestions, strategies, standard and policies of technical solutions for the new product capabilities.
Plan, study, and coordinate future ground architectures based on emerging threats, capabilities.
Work with the development and integration team to educate and explain technical aspects.
Collaborate with C-Level, upper management, end users and technical teams to construct roadmaps, blueprints and technical design documentation needed.
Support Solution Architect providing cross entity visibility, compliance with US industry standards.
Validate that the Infrastructure Design corresponds to the technical design needs for the project while breaking down large scale projects into manageable shortterm goals.

Education & Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree is required
Bilingual in English and Spanish is required
4+ years' experience architecting solutions within COBOL (Microfocus Enterprise Server), Oracle databases, Control-M (scheduler), JCLs (Job Control Language)
Must have knowledge of core banking (Customer Information File, Pricing Module, Deposits, Loans, Payments, Cards)
Must have held Architectural level roles previously in Agile frameworks (Scrum and SAFe)
Strong understanding of Microfocus and mainframe environments is a must

Plus:

Previous experience as a Developer with COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2 is a plus
Managerial skills are highly preferred (project planning, resource allocation, timeframe, dependencies, follow up actions, etc.
