- Complete quality improvement, sustaining, and cost reduction projects to meet project quality, delivery and cost (QDC) targets.
- Work and coordinate VAVE projects with our Engineering Technical Centers in Shanghai and Bangalore
- Lead Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA's) and Internal Design Reviews (IDR's) for assigned projects.
- Direct the testing of required engineering samples for evaluation and validation of needed changes.
- Direct the creation or revision of engineering product documentation (drawings, specifications, bills of materials, safety agency approvals).
- Design for reliability (DFR).
- Design for manufacturing, assembly, and ergonomics (DFMAE).
- Complete required product agency compliance and listings as needed (AHRI, UL, etc.).
- Select and specify component and material requirements as needed.
- Support manufacturing in resolving design related assembly and manufacturing issues. Qualifications:
- Problem assessment and problem-solving skills.
- Project planning and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of Safety Agency Standards UL1995 5 th edition and UL
- Results oriented individual with an emphasis placed on achieving overall team performance.
- Demonstrated ability to complete assignments on time.
- Experience with PC based Windows programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.).
- Experience with mechanical and electrical application equipment design.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Must have good conflict management skills and demonstrate versatility in personal interaction.
- Energy and desire to drive continuous improvement projects.
- Experience with HVAC, refrigeration systems, basic electrical circuits, and components.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt/Lean Expert (preferred).
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required
- Minimum of 7 years HVAC experience
