    : This Product Development Engineer will work as a valued member of our Residential Packaged Product Engineering Team to sustain existing products, lead Productivity activities, and work closely with different functions to resolve field and quality issues.
    Responsibilities:
  • Complete quality improvement, sustaining, and cost reduction projects to meet project quality, delivery and cost (QDC) targets.
  • Work and coordinate VAVE projects with our Engineering Technical Centers in Shanghai and Bangalore
  • Lead Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA's) and Internal Design Reviews (IDR's) for assigned projects.
  • Direct the testing of required engineering samples for evaluation and validation of needed changes.
  • Direct the creation or revision of engineering product documentation (drawings, specifications, bills of materials, safety agency approvals).
  • Design for reliability (DFR).
  • Design for manufacturing, assembly, and ergonomics (DFMAE).
  • Complete required product agency compliance and listings as needed (AHRI, UL, etc.).
  • Select and specify component and material requirements as needed.
  • Support manufacturing in resolving design related assembly and manufacturing issues.
  • Qualifications:
  • Problem assessment and problem-solving skills.
  • Project planning and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of Safety Agency Standards UL1995 5 th edition and UL
  • Results oriented individual with an emphasis placed on achieving overall team performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete assignments on time.
  • Experience with PC based Windows programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.).
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical application equipment design.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must have good conflict management skills and demonstrate versatility in personal interaction.
  • Energy and desire to drive continuous improvement projects.
  • Experience with HVAC, refrigeration systems, basic electrical circuits, and components.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt/Lean Expert (preferred).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required
  • Minimum of 7 years HVAC experience
  • Domestic and international travel required (up to 15%).
