- Drive accountability for all commodities with HT & Special Processes responsibility.
- Lead product introductions to site with a focus on people, safety, quality, productivity and scheduling material.
- Establish and monitor overall HT & SP performance for production and quality standards.
- Participate in designing and implementing continuous improvement processes for the area.
- Accountable for plant throughput, on-time performance, quality, and productivity for HT & SP; manage the metallurgical laboratory to provide continuous service to HT & SP production and give support for other areas as needed.
- Develop subordinates to optimize their performance and their personal and professional growth.
- Assure proper training and development of manufacturing associates at all levels.
- Ensure all departmental and individual goals are directly aligned with overall plant goals.
- Establish a good working atmosphere with strong ethics and maintain a positive working relationship with the union.
- Foster teamwork between departments and within the department.
- Address unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and hazards in respective work areas, and ensure corrective actions.
- Complete assigned action items on SEH action plan; participate in SEH risk analysis for departments; report any energy spills to maintenance; achieve near misses/gemba goal and close them on time.
- Assume and motivate responsibility and accountability across the organization related to quality management system effectiveness.
- Promote risk prevention/assessment and process attachment thinking across productive and functional areas.
- Communicate and raise awareness of an effective quality management system and the fulfillment of its requirements.
- Build Organizational Capability by empowering functional areas while providing overall direction and accountability in line with Business Values and Philosophies.
- Ensure customer requirements are met.
- Determine and consider the risks and opportunities that may impact product and service conformity and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Review the Organization/stakeholders' context as necessary and report any changes.
- Support other relevant management roles in demonstrating leadership within their areas of responsibility.
- Present results related to the Quality Management system effectiveness in daily, weekly or annual meetings, Staff meetings.
- Ensure processes generate and deliver the intended outputs.
- Escalate critical nonconforming product identification.
- Authorize changes to the Quality System.
- Redefine departmental goals and objectives.
- Support and/or participate in Continuous Improvement Activities such as: TIPs, Kaizen Blitz, Cost out, or demonstrate improvements in goals year over year in processes or practices aligned to achieve business goals.
- Ensure activities comply with the QMS (ISO-9001 and IATF16949) and quality policy, aligned with the organization's strategic direction and business context.
- Ensure integration and availability of quality management system (ISO-9001 and IATF16949) requirements and resources within all business processes.
- Perform any other activity designated by your immediate supervisor.
- 10 years of experience in Manufacturing/Operations Environment
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Metallurgy/Materials Engineering or similar
- Fluent in English
- Experience in Production Ovens Maintenance
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes (Machining, grinding, Treatments, coatings, welding)
- Skills in FMEA
- Financial acumen in accounting and/or costs, understanding of budgets and cost drivers
- General understanding of ISO/IATF 16949
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification
- Understanding of Ergonomics and occupational health
- Proficiency in Lean Tools/Continuous Improvement
- Experience in Accident investigation and troubleshooting
- Proficiency in Statistical methods and tools/Six Sigma
- Knowledge of Phosphating Theory/VSM/MIFA, Bottlenecks, and OEE
- Familiarity with OEA/CTPAT
- Strong focus on results, Leadership, Decision making, Risk Analysis
