Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review & processing of stakeholder Project Requests.
  • Follow standard techniques and procedures to select, apply, design and draft wet seal products to repair or replace seals (IS174 & IS175).
  • Where necessary, liaise with Global Engineering Product Groups and other SMEs to provide 'Right first time' design solutions.
  • Basic use of CSTEDY & similar tools for simple design analysis an advantage.
  • Basic design engineering calculations as required. Familiarity with webcalcs an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and assembly techniques required.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with JC ERP systems required.
  • Experience of reverse engineering an advantage in terms of drawing/design work but also hands on measurement techniques.
  • Knowledge of seal and piping plan selection required.
  • Some knowledge of competitor products is an advantage.
  • Customer site experience is an advantage.
  • Working with TeamCentre and familiarity with GCN system necessary.
  • Design of wet seal products using 2 & 3D CAD techniques necessary (Solid Edge preferred).
  • Knowledge of JC coding system required.
  • Experience of troubleshooting, including analysis of problems / recommendation & implementation of appropriate solutions is an advantage.
  • Experience working on PP or repair contracts an advantage.

The Individual

  • Bachelor's in engineering (Preferably Mechanical) with typical experience of 6 to 9 years.
  • Must have a good math background that must include trig and calculus
  • Must have the ability to work independently or in coordination with an engineer in development of designs or adaptations requiring advanced specialized knowledge
  • Must have aptitude for problem solving to include the ability to gather, correlate and present statistical data for review and use by an engineer or other parties toward the completion of an assigned project.
