Position Responsibilities:


  • Assuming technical leadership role over project development team throughout the lifecycle of an assigned High-Voltage Inverter project; starting with quotation of project costs.
  • Responsible for overseeing technical content, creating schedules and adhere to deadline of milestones of the assigned development projects, while being in agreement with global Program Management.
  • Representing the development progress of an assigned project visàvis to the internal expert departments and system teams as well as to the customer.
  • Main point of contact for the customer, which includes conducting regular customer development status meetings and technical reviews.
  • Managing the development budget for the assigned project.
  • Leading a team of project development engineers across multiple ZF locations worldwide.
  • Being the liaison between the R&D basic development team (worldwide), the core technology team (worldwide) and the direct customer team (North America).
  • Executing change management processes for released product designs.
  • Ensuring system development, validation, and delivery to customer are according to internal and external guidelines and processes (e.g. ISO26262, IATF 16949, DOORS, etc.).
  • Reviewing and understanding of customer requirements, managing documentation and incorporation of these requirements into the ZF product design, and ensuring customer and internal product requirements are linked together.
  • Confirming that the product design meets all of the customer's requirements by overseeing successful completion of internal testing and validation processes.
  • Contributing to the development of Mechanical, Electrical, Hardware or Software internal specifications.
  • Coordinating parts procurement for prototype builds during development phase.
  • Managing internal teams in order to resolve technical issues associated with customer products.
  • Ensuring that an approved detailed drawing package and technical document reports are provided for final product design.
  • Defining the development strategy in order to achieve project objectives.
  • Regularly tracking and reporting the project progress by checking and updating development schedules and by conducting internal development status meetings.
  • Managing the development product evolution process, checklists, releases and gate deliverables.
  • Participating in continuous improvement programs and providing support to team efforts.
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, formal training, reviewing professional publications, establishing and expanding professional networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Participating in reviews and audits if required.
  • Ensuring compliance with the ZF Quality Management System requirements which includes IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and Customer Specific Requirements.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • B.S. in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience as technical project lead
  • 3+ years of experience in electric motor development
  • Experience in the Automotive and/or Electronics industries
  • Technical product expertise of Emotors
  • Selfstarter with strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent project planning and organizational abilities
