The Cost Accountant will be responsible for applying accounting principles to the month-end close process, prepare account reconciliations and reports, and address various inventory related activities including special projects.

The Cost Accountant will review cost expenditures, record data, and provide internal reporting to support the Operations teams. General Responsibilities
Leads close activities for the company to accurately report results within the closing cyclePrepare, reconcile, and report on relevant cost accounting close activitiesHandles journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliationsDevelop and maintain cost accounting system, documentation, records, and reportingSupport internal stakeholders to make effective business decisionsAnalyzes changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costsReviews and document costs for all external inventory, labor, and material purchasesLeads and complete internal cost auditsReview and document inventory and material purchasesAccurately record and update existing and new purchased materials and goodsCompile documentation on standard costs and company production costsEnsure compliance to applicable accounting guidelines, polices, and internal control proceduresCoordinate and execute physical inventories according to annual plans Experience / QualificationsA university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experienceMust be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demandsStrong communication skills; oral, written and presentationStrong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve resultsStrong personal and professional ethical values and integrityHolds self-accountable to achieving goals and standardsProficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and / or external customersSmarter Together Collaborating at Sensata means working with some of the world's most talented people in an enriching environment that is constantly pushing towards the next best thing
