Typical Accountabilities, Experience & Behaviours


Responsible for:

  • Ensure usage of defined processes and systems to ensure high process efficiency and process compliance (e.g. Compliant Purchaseto Pay process, Third Party Risk Management (3PRM) Procurement guidelines Policy & related policies) are followed on the business and improve the usage of the procurement tools.
  • Manages or provides technical support to multiple procurement arrangements on a daytoday basis ensuring adequate support and training on procurement processes
  • Oversees longterm resource planning for the function through responsibility of specific supplier relationships, researching and assisting in selecting potential sources of material
  • Acts as a technical owner of a specific area within the Procurement Function with a deep understanding of processes and cost analysis
  • Either leads the planning, managing, and monitoring of procurement relationships and projects from concepts to implementation, or provides expert technical support to project manager
  • Manages commercial review of procurement, oversees costs for several functions and provides input to cost improvement planning as appropriate
  • Keeps own knowledge of best practices and new developments up to date
  • Leads trouble shooting activities to resolve existing problems, make complicated judgements and anticipate future developments in AstraZeneca's Procurement related needs
  • Responsible for managing supplier relationships and expectations across a broad range of products or services in order to provide a high quality, timely and costeffective service
  • Ensures optimal spend across relationships under management through support with cost management
  • Employs prepared information to discuss, plan and reevaluate supplier relationships
  • Develops contacts across a range of departments and/or external suppliers acting as a representative for functions
  • Ensures adherence to Health, Safety and Environment of own work and work of other employees
  • Supports ongoing change management and continuous improvement and development for functions
  • Ensures adequate supervision, instruction and training is provided to all members of team
Education

  • University degree required (Business Administration, Engineering, Economics)

Experience:


  • 15 years of procurement experience

  • Excellent communications skills (verbal and written) with the ability to present information in a clear and concise format to all levels within the organization
  • Excellent influencing skills in the matrix organization
  • Ability to engage fast with the stakeholders on different level in the organization
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Experience of procurement
  • Proved ability to manage multiple projects/tasks effectively
  • Demonstrated success working in a team environment
  • Strong analytical and financial skills
  • Project and people management

Language capabilities:

  • Written and spoken proficiency in English and Spanish
