Sr Planner - Sonora - Ichor Systems, Inc.

Ichor Systems is seeking a highly analytical and results‑driven Senior Planner to join our Planning team. This role is critical to ensuring uninterrupted material availability for large‑scale semiconductor manufacturing. The Senior Planner will develop material plans, manage direct materials procurement, optimize inventory levels, and coordinate with suppliers and cross‑functional teams to meet production, cost, and delivery goals in a fast‑paced, high‑precision environment.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in materials planning, inventory management, MRP/ERP systems, supplier coordination, and cross‑functional communication.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Material Planning

• Develop, update, and manage the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on demand, material availability, and capacity.
• Monitor and analyze forecast vs. capacity to identify risks and constraints.
• Release and track internal work orders according to MRP requirements.
• Monitor production order status, lead times, and supply constraints.

Supplier & Procurement Management

• Manage delivery commitments, re-schedules, and confirmations with internal and external suppliers.
• Ensure continuous supply of critical materials, metals, and mechanical components.
• Support supplier performance evaluations and drive corrective actions when needed.

Inventory Optimization

• Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess stock.
• Identify and communicate root causes of plan deviations (quality issues, equipment failures, material delays).
• Coordinate corrective actions with engineering, production, and quality teams.

Cross‑Functional Coordination

• Work closely with engineering, production, logistics, purchasing, and quality to support production requirements.
• Lead or participate in production and supply chain review meetings.
• Conduct OTD / Plan Adherence analysis and provide visibility to stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and functional support to junior planners/buyers.

Compliance & Business Continuity

• Support internal and external audits, compliance activities, and internal controls.
• Contribute to business continuity planning and escalation management for constrained materials.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in materials planning, procurement, or inventory control (preferably in high‑tech, electronics, or semiconductor manufacturing).
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).

Technical Skills

• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, dashboards, data analysis).
• Strong understanding of supply chain processes, inventory management, and production planning.
• Analytical ability to interpret data and solve complex issues.
• Mathematical proficiency in rates, ratios, percentages, and statistical analysis.
