Job Description

NPDE Technician II

Reports to:
NPDE Engineering Technician Coordinator


GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Provide technical support to the NPDE Test technician group with focus in test equipment replication. Development and assembly of fixtures and equipment required for new programs and capacity projects.


GENERAL FUNCTIONS

  • Documents procedures, flow diagrams, and charts.
  • Ensure the equipment & fixtures work at the optimum level, to the right rate and quality of output, to meet customer requirements.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS

  • Inspects that equipment and fixtures work per specifications.
  • Ensure that safety practices & procedures are followed.
  • Control maintenance tools, stores and equipment.
  • Design maintenance, procedures and methods.
  • Set and maintain all operating process parameters to achieve high levels of production and efficiency targets.
  • Actively develop and/or participate in, and implement cost savings initiatives involving waste minimization, productivity improvements, product recovery and other process optimization opportunities.
  • Provide technical support for new equipment, interfacing with EDG, Quality, Operations, and other required groups.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2 to 4 years' experience in Equipment engineering, corporate/plant engineering or related area in a consumer products manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with PC software Excel, Word, Power Point, Auto Cad
  • Knowledge in electro mechanic concepts.
  • Knowledge in Pneumatic concepts.
  • Knowledgeable in process controls.

TRAINING

  • Windchill.
  • Speaker Manufacturing Concepts.
  • Acoustic Training o Speaker Test System. (VAST)
  • Manufacturing Equipment Design Group.
  • Basic SPC.
  • Problem Solving Methodology (8D, PDCA or DDW)
  • Equipment Validation.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Continuous Improvement: (25%)
  • Pursue opportunities in reduction of equipment assembly & replication.
  • Implementation of new technologies.
  • NPIP: (25%)
  • Execute activities related to New Product Introduction Process.
  • Equipment Assembly &

Replication System:
(50%)

  • Equipment replication.
  • Administrate equipment expenses.
