    Solution Design Project Engineer - Controls

    As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and applying large-scale material handling solutions. This includes leading design teams and managing MHE projects.

    Tasks and Qualifications:

    The Solution Design Project Engineer on the Key Accounts team oversees the engineering efforts and estimation of large and complex MHE solutions. This team member manages the definition of solution requirements, identifies relevant control architectures, generates a description of operations, supports customer layout reviews, generates/directs the development of solution design, supports conception efforts, and creates system cost estimations using department tools/processes.

    Solution Design Project Engineer Responsibilities:

    • Review requirements from the customer/sales team and closely collaborate with relevant internal/external stakeholders to generate executable system concepts.
    • Lead team members, create 3D models, and generate proposal drawings to achieve concept freeze.
    • Produce material lists and project scope of work summaries.
    • Identify relevant control architectures, delineate control boundaries, specify relevant interfaces between machine/host, and generate vendor quote requirements.
    • Review customer-submitted D of O requirements and generate proposal description of operations to specify system capabilities.
    • Submit quote requests and validate vendor quotes in conjunction with procurement teams.
    • Apply standard subsystems, designs, and modules to solutions where appropriate.
    • Evaluate external quotes to ensure compliance with customer and internal requirements.
    • Identify and submit relevant internal controls/electrical quote requests and ensure discipline alignment with quoted budgets.
    • Lead technical review and pricing reviews.
    • Create cost breakouts and bridging as required.
    • Establish priorities, and promote effective interaction between departments.
    • Accountable for technical, cost, and contracting aspects of projects and serves as a key contact for intra-company departments and vendors.

    Requirements:

    • 5+ Years of Industry Experience
    • Relevant Engineering Backgrounds: Mechatronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, Application Engineering, Industrial Engineering
    • PLC Control Systems (Required)
    • WMS/WCS Software (Required)
    • Case Conveyor (Required)
    • Bulk Handling (Preferred)
    • Linear Sortation (Preferred)
    • Crossbelt Sortation
    • ASRS & Unit Load
    • Structural Experience
    • Pallet Conveyor
