    Job Description

    Oportun is seeking an experienced and motivated Front End Software Engineer to join our team. As a solid engineer, you will be respected by your peers for cleanliness of code and loved by product managers for understanding the roadmap and thinking ahead in design.

    Responsibilities:

    Triage, troubleshoot, escalate and provide resolution to production issues.

    • Reproduce, document and escalate product defects to the Engineering Team.
    • Provide well-thought out and reliable direction, both in technical and non-technical terms, to help customers.
    • Take ownership of customer issues, including initial troubleshooting, identification of root cause and issue resolution or escalation.
    • Identify and escalate priority issues that need immediate attention.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams requiring strong presentation skills and attention to details.

    Qualifications:

    We are looking for:

    • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
    • At least 3+ years of experience shipping quality code.
    • Experience with leading frontend frameworks like Angular, React etc.
    • Solid experience and understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (vanilla JS and popular libraries like Underscore.js and jQuery).
    • Experience with REST-based APIs.
    • Experience with build technologies like Gradle, Jenkins.
    • Experience with Test Driven Development using TestNG/Junit testing frameworks.
    • Experience working with version control like GIT.
    • Experience with relational DBs like MySQL and NoSQL Database like MongoDB, Solr/Lucene.
