Primary Purpose:


The Cloud Service Portfolio Manager is pivotal in meeting C&I's objective to offer services that accelerate the customer's mission through ensuring our portfolio offers relevant, high-quality, cost-effective cloud services.


Key Accountabilities:


Responsible for:

  • All cloud service development in Cloud & Infrastructure through collaboration with Hybrid Platform Engineering, Cloud Platform Engineering, Cloud Solutions Engineering, IGNITE and BAU teams.
  • The following phases of the Services Lifecycle as defined by the ITIL v3 framework:
Service Strategy

  • In collaboration with the teams listed above develop and promulgate an overarching C&I service strategy, reflective of customer needs.
  • Create a formal and consistent service development methodology for Cloud & Infrastructure Cloud Services
  • Develop and refine specific strategies for individual services as requirements dictate.
  • Manage the Innovation & Incubation Lab to ensure we are considering new ideas for services
  • Develop a method to influence the cloud services roadmap and prioritize the pipeline of delivery.
  • Develop a feedback loop to measure service effectiveness and need for improvement to meet customer needs
Service Design

  • Define service designs for all Cloud Services to include agreed SLAs, OLAs, KPIs and any other measures necessary to ensure quality services.
  • Publish and maintain service definition documents for all Cloud Services.
  • Publish and maintain service catalog of all Cloud Services.
  • Ensure all new services are integrated with existing services and processes seamlessly.
Service Transition

  • Develop and own a standard service transition framework for Cloud & Infrastructure cloud services.
  • Ensure that a service transition plan is created and executed for all new services.
  • Manage and take accountability for all Cloud Service transitions.
  • Engage with all Services stakeholders customers, Cloud Advisory Team, Architecture and Engineering and BAU Teams to ensure seamless service transitions.
  • Continuous Service Improvements based on feedback
  • Develop and own a standard service review framework for GIS.
  • Perform and deliver an annual service review of all GIS services.
  • Monitor all services as per service design metrics.
  • Identify and address service improvements.
  • Ensuring adequate training is available for the C&I workforce to be fluent in the new service
  • Tool for management and visibility of Roadmaps across C&I Towers
  • Preparing and delivering updates and presentation to senior management concerning the status and health of cloud services

Key Challenges:


  • Generate and maintain momentum for service reviews and improvements and be an advocate for service excellence
  • Foster strong professional relationships both internally and externally to GIS, demonstrating an ability to work collaboratively to deliver high quality services in a dynamic business environment.
  • Study and understand AstraZeneca business requirements in order to anticipate and plan for future service needs.
  • Stay keen to new technology offerings to identify opportunities to enrich our cloud service offerings relevant to customer needs.
  • Ensure there is an avenue for influencing the roadmap on behalf of customer needs.

Decision Making:


  • Recommends approaches to achieve business outcomes, developing service concepts and programs and prioritization of service pipeline.
  • Recommends tools for management and visibility of roadmaps across C&I and ETS
  • Accountable for delivering on assigned outcomes and for the accuracy, integrity and quality of
  • Role is bound by policy guidelines and executive approval, however, there is latitude to determine how to achieve end results.
  • Role will develop strategies that will be implemented by other parts of the organization.

Essential Qualities:


  • Strong understanding of Cloud Services
  • Demonstrated experience in new service design and development
  • Demonstrated capability in building and maintaining effective and productive relationships within and outside of the organization
  • Exhibits a passion for up and coming technology
  • Demonstrated ability in Project Management skills to coordinate across teams and manage service transition into BAU
