Resumen de la Posición:


Based on MRP, this position performs varied purchasing/planning assignments to procure supplies, raw materials necessary for the operation of the organization.

The Buyer/Planner will develop the process/tools and will work closely with the manufacturing value stream teams to develop strategies to ensure the production and supply of finished goods for on-time shipments.


Responsabilidades:


  • Utilize MRP for the procurement of materials to ensure the best possible material availability for production and service requirements while controlling inventory levels
  • Recommends and makes parameter adjustments to ensure that MRP is planning based on the needs of the business (i.e. minimum orders quantities, safety stock, lead times, etc.)
  • Active participation in improvement projects
  • Work with Corporate Finance and suppliers to resolve invoice issues in a timely manner.
  • Performs varied purchasing assignments to provide raw materials.
  • Mitigate inflation by proactively working with key suppliers on cost reduction initiatives
  • Follow company procedures.
  • Identify and implement inventory control and inventory reduction initiatives utilizing techniques such as Vendor Managed Inventory, KanBan, Bin Systems, Just-InTime and Demand Flow to increase inventory turnover
  • Participates in cyclical counts and physical inventories when required.
  • Develops and executes inventory reduction plans/strategies. Report of metrics established by your area, in addition to providing corrective actions to metrics that did not reach the established goal.
  • Participate in environmental and safety training sessions (to which you are invited)
  • Perform their tasks respecting the controls for the care of the environment and the integrity of employees
  • Participate in weekly talks on environment and safety
  • Report the relevant Hazard IDs you identify in your environmental and safety activities
  • Participate in the 4 Disciplines of Execution
  • Participate in PPI activities

Authority**:


  • Contact suppliers for quotes
  • Deviation of material following the established process
  • Expedite priority shipments (under $500 USD)
  • Report any issues related to EHS matters

Position Requirements:


Education:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business / Engineering or related
  • Preferably experience of 57 years in a similar position or its equivalent

Knowledge:


  • Planning, organization, and negotiation with suppliers (desirable)
  • Preferably intermediate English (desirable)
