    ResponsibilitiesWork directly with senior tax director on issues related to income tax audits primarily in US, Mexico and Canada and other jurisdictions as issues arise.

    Lead global tax controversy strategies including interfacing with tax authorities.
    Respond to Information Data Requests (IDRs) from various taxing jurisdictions.
    Manage day to day operations of the income tax audits including maintaining effective communication with tax authorities. Effectively manage the IDR process, strictly adhering to the deadlines mandated by the IRS. Ensure all necessary documentation is prepared and maintained for tax disputes. Monitor compliance with tax laws and regulations to minimize future disputes.

    Conduct thorough research on tax laws, regulations, and court rulings to develop effective conveyance of the company's tax position and to rebut proposed adjustments.

    Collaborate with internal finance and legal teams. Manage multiple deadlines with internal personnel and external advisors where necessary.

    Assess the potential financial and reputational risks associated with tax disputes and develop strategies to mitigate risks working with senior leaders and outside advisers.

    Prepare detailed reports and/or summaries of tax controversies, including the status of individual IDRs, progress and estimated potential outcomes. Present information to senior management and other stakeholders – verbally or in written form.
    Calculate and effectively convey uncertain tax positions that stem from various controversy matters.
    QualificationsInternational and global tax controversy experience with progressively increasing responsibilities and accountabilityExperience in managing tax examinations and controversy matters to completionBig Four Public Accounting and/or Law Firm experience combined with in-house company tax experienceExperience in responding to requests from tax jurisdictions in regard to auditAnalytical experience with research and quantitative and qualitative analysis supporting conclusionEffective and efficient written and oral communication skillsExceptional project management and organizational skills including ability to prioritize competing tasks and to synthesize complex tax matters into simple, concise communicationsRequired Education / Years' Experience Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or equivalentMinimum of 8-years corporate tax experience in multinational or Big-4 accounting firmMinimum of 6 years of tax controversy experienceManagement skills, this role will have direct reports
