Sourcing Buyer

Responsibilities:_

  • Procures supplies, materials, services, tooling, and equipment for delivery at specified time or location.
  • Places and updates purchase orders for NPI launches, manage delivery of products and ensures timely delivery to eliminate potential for backorders and stockouts.
  • Work with the PMO team to update schedule on deliveries to ensure launch timelines can be achieved.
  • Work with the Sourcing specialist on capacity planning and equipment requirements.
  • Manage any subcontracting process.
  • Plans, schedules, and monitors the movement of materials through the fulfillment cycle.
  • Advises team of any actual or potential material shortages. Work with Sourcing and Engineering to resolve any potential issue that may impact launch dates
  • Ensures suppliers have complete product information to meet product quality standards and deliveries for production and assist with the PPAP process.
  • Monitors performance of buyer KPIs and develops/executes improvement actions.
  • Tracks individual complete and ontime delivery (COT) performance, assigns reason codes for order fulfillment failures, and drives actions to improve future performance for assigned commodities.
  • Tracks and resolves material review board (MRB) parts and resolves supplier nonconformances and cost recovery.

Qualifications:_

  • Experience internationally supplies chain management, or equivalent education.
  • Minimum 3+ year of procurement experience in Buying/Sourcing
  • Working knowledge of international trade.
  • BA/BS degree in Business Administration or Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Experience working with ERP systems or equivalent knowledge.
  • Knowledge of material requirement planning, inventory control techniques, forecasting, production planning, RFQ, RFP and RFI process.
