Descripción
Stellantis has crafted a bold strategic plan that paves the way to achieve carbon net zero by 2038.

To deliver this objective the introduction of advanced technologies in Powertrain (like new energy storage cells), Electric and Electronics devices (like embedded electronics as well as electrical motors) involves more and more the knowledge on raw materials as key skill in the product development.

In Global Purchasing and Supply Chain team (GPSC), the Materials and Technical Expertise group (MTE) is in charge to deal with raw materials technologies to secure them.

In particular:

  • Characterization (chemical and physical) of active materials (CAM, AAM, ELECTROLYTES, SEPARATOR, BINDERS) in Liion batteries Gen3, Gen4, Gen5 to define the cells' specs and rise the performances
  • Electro-Chemical phenomena occurring in CAM, AAM to guarantee performances and cell healthy
  • Qualification of reused and recycled raw materials in advanced CAM, AAM, ELECTROLYTES, SEPARATORS and impact on product performances and to linked to circularity technologies used
  • Support and follow the development of new chemical materials: waterbased binders, 100% Si based Anodes
  • Modelling and Simulation of materials in terms of crystal lattices to evaluate the electrochemical benefits (stablity, charge carrier, mobility.)
Mandatory background in chemistry of solid state / crystallinity of metals (Nickel, Cobalt, Lithium) / physics of solid matter

Technical Skills required for the position include but are not limited to:

  • Expertise's Materials Science focusing onPhysical & Chemical validation of raw materials for electmaterials like Nickel, Cobalt, Manganese, Graphite, Lithium, Organic material & recycled raw materials-Charge
  • discharge curves (SOC, C-rate) for material evaluation-Eco-design: how to design the CAM and AAM to optimize the recycling and closed-loop phases of cells
  • Modelling ofthe behaviors of the raw materials in electrodes: salts and chemical/physical links
  • Knowledge in manufacturing and transformation processes of precursorsthat allow the optimization of RM in final components: CAM AAM and separatorLaboratory evaluation of charge/discharge profiles (SOC, Crate)
  • Physical Chemical validation of Raw material as microscopy (SEM, FIB, HRSEM, AFM, STM, IPC, XRF)
  • Coating technologies of raw materials for precursors and electrodes

Critical Skills required for the position include but are not limited to:

  • Electrochemicals phenomena involved in energy storage (Li-ion cells)
  • Technologies of manufacturability/transformation for precursor materials enable CAM, AAM
  • Qualification for CAM AAM materials
  • Modelling and Simulation of materials in terms of crystal lattices (Li salts)
  • Established network in the supply chain for precursor production and transformation

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in materials science, chemistry, electrochemistry, chemical Engineer or equivalent
  • A minimum of 10 years experience
  • Experience in working with multidisciplinary tams
  • Enable to create synthesis and to drawup technical reports
  • Motivation to work on innovative and new technical topics in constantly changing world

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in chemistry
  • Professional experience in this field of activity
