Position Overview

We are seeking an experiences Tax Specialist Accountant to join our Finance team. The role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with payroll, social security, federal, foreing trade, economy and local tax regulations, managing VAT refund processes, and preparing mandatory reporting to the authorities. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in tax matters and proven experience in manufacturing or maquiladora environment.

Main Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely compliance with federal, state, and municipal tax obligations, including income tax, VAT, payroll-related contributions, and other applicable levies.
• Oversee and manage IMSS, INFONAVIT, and social security obligations.
• Lead and coordinate the VAT refund process, including preparation, filing, and follow-up with authorities.
• Prepare and submit INEGI questionnaires and other governmental statistical reports.
• Support audits and reviews from tax authorities and social security institutions.
• Provide technical tax advice to management and support internal finance and accounting processes.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Mexican tax legislation and regulatory changes.
• Collaborate with external advisors and auditors as needed.

Job Requirements & Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in public accounting (Contador Público) – mandatory.
• 5–6 years of experience in tax compliance and accounting, preferably in manufacturing or maquiladora industries.
• Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and social security regulations.
• Demonstrated experience in VAT refund processes and government reporting.
• Familiarity with foreign trade, INEGI questionnaires and related compliance requirements for a Maquila program.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP (or similar ERP system).
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under deadlines.
• Professional communication skills in Spanish and English.
