The role of a Procurement Manager, Indirect Material is to support Emerson Tool Company in improving the overall performance of its supply chain by focusing on improvements in speed, flexibility, and robust quality and delivery performance.

Additionally, this position will drive cost savings and cost containment in Direct (Buyouts) and/or Indirect Materials.


The Procurement Manager will support the business in the areas of Supply Chain Management including Supplier management & development, Supplier quality performance, and Supplier delivery performance.

Additionally, they may be called upon to assist in Administrative functions in Procurement, including managing a small staff and managing key processes.


As a Procurement Manager, You Will:

  • Manage assigned commodities; manage day-to-day Supplier activities (pricing, delivery, & quality); support materials group in Reynosa; identify & develop new suppliers as needed; maintain competitive material costs for the Business; drive continuous improvement with the Supply Chain.
  • Manage Commodity Managers as assigned by the Director or VP of Procurement.
  • Manage Buyouts and/or indirect (MRO) purchases as assigned.
  • Manage & support various annual Procurement processes as assigned: Standard Cost development, Part Analysis à eSourcing / Negotiation planning, support Financial Review and Profitability Review activities, maintain NMI (Ex109), eSourcing, Contract management, etc.
  • Perform & support Quarterly Supplier Business Reviews (QBRs)
  • Manage various material hedging programs as assigned: Copper, Aluminum, others
  • Forecast PPV to Finance Department for monthly POR.
  • Assist plant groups in resolution of critical quality and service problems.
  • Develop cost reductions and cost containment programs. Fully utilize eSourcing and MIN tools to maximize cost savings.
  • Support New Product development activities through Divisional SPR Teams

We offer the flexiblity of a core hour work schedule. Employees can flex their start and stop times given they are working during the core hours of 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. Our teams work together to ensure their chosen work schedules are supporting our customers.


Required Education, Experience & Skills:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Materials, Logistics or a related field.
  • Requires travel to Suppliers and Emerson Tool Co Plant (20% 40%)
  • 5 years of experience in supply chain, engineering, or manufacturing environments
  • Experience in the area of Indirect Spend including MRO, Capital, Manufacturing Services, Leases, Rental, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze sophisticated situations.
  • Ability to communicate to all levels and functions of suppliers and management.
  • Analytical and digital literacy to manage data and information.
  • Organizational and facilitation skills to lead Projects.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Sponsorship for this role will not be available

Preferred Education, Experience & Skills:


  • 10 years of experience in supply chain, engineering, or manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Oracle experience desirable.
