    Description of the Position

    The Materials Planning teams at TE Connectivity are responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring material movement plans throughout the production cycle. They determine the quantity and delivery date of materials to meet production or engineering programs, initiate purchase orders or production in accordance with supplier agreements, and create production schedules based on forecasts and historical analysis. The team develops specifications for new contractual orders as well as labor requirement predictions and plans. They provide timely and accurate information on supplier performance and may be asked to participate with the Strategic Procurement team in high-level evaluations of supplier performance. Additionally, they monitor costs, schedules, and scope of assigned subcontracts to ensure the best quality at the best value.

    About Your Experience

    Responsibilities:

    1. Responsible for developing and maintaining valid production schedules from the backlog and demand forecast to meet customer requirements, while utilizing resources cost effectively.
    2. Support Value Stream Leaders in leading materials related projects and play a key role in New Product Introductions.
    3. Maintain a valid plan in SAP/Rapid Response.
    4. Plans flow of work through plant, considering raw materials and shipping dates of finished products.
    5. Working closely with cross-functional leads, identify, plan and resolve inconsistencies and gaps between demand and supply.
    6. Alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
    7. Work with Procurement to ensure material availability.
    8. Load and review part number detail on weekly basis.
    9. Keep Interco suppliers workload level loaded.
    10. Communicate ship schedules to Customer Service Advocates.
    11. Monitor weekly customer shipments/STO.
    12. Monitors lead times and lead time offsets in the system to reflect flow and lean manufacturing principles.
    13. Highlight parts for maintenance of the item master in MRP environment.
    14. Maintenance of purchase orders.
    15. Review and work Exception messages daily.
    16. Participate in cycle counting program.
    17. Manage inventory levels to support Days on Hand targets.

    Qualifications

    1. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Materials Planning position or previous Master Scheduling experience.
    2. Strong interpersonal and analytical skills are essential.
    3. Candidate must maintain a positive, professional attitude.
    4. Possess the ability to multi-task in a changing environment.
    5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    6. Ability to work under pressure, balancing conflicting priorities and resource constraints.
    7. Thorough understanding of MRP logic and inventory strategies.
    8. Experience with SAP is preferred.
    9. Track attainment to production schedule.
    10. Schedule release of finished material to customer orders.
    11. Inventory management.
    12. Ability to analyze and reconcile material issues.
    13. Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) is a plus.
    14. Advanced Computer skills: MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
    15. APICS certification preferred.
    16. BS or BA Degree required.
