- Lead the development and implementation of manufacturing engineering strategies to improve equipment safety, performance, and overall efficiency.
- Manage and lead a team of engineers to meet and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) of manufacturing area.
- Support the introduction of new products and processes within the engineering organization.
- Collaborate with operations to lead the process improvement process and implement lean manufacturing principles.
- Develop, implement, and maintain methods, operation sequences, and processes in the fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.
- Design and analyze mechanical systems and equipment to improve efficiency and quality.
- Ensure that shipped products meet specifications and standards of quality through engineering techniques.
- Develop forward-looking plans with plants for capital spending and prepare justification proposals.
- Lead automation projects for assembly and core processes, OEE improvements, manufacturing process standardization, and footprint projects.
- At least 10 years of operational and/or technical experience within manufacturing with a detailed knowledge of current manufacturing technologies.
- Experience in handling complex projects that require planning, costing, and justification of capital investment.
- High technical skills to troubleshoot and repair fully automatic equipment and lead engineering teams.
- Knowledge of techniques and formats such as SPC, FMEA's, control plans, and ability to train and develop engineers.
- Excellent commercial and business acumen with deep experience in analyzing supplier technologies and capabilities.
- Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement skills and knowledge, including kaizen, kanban, 5s, 8d, Just in Time, and Cost improvement concepts.
- Lean six sigma Expert/Black belt preferred.
- BA/BS degree in an Engineering or Technical discipline, advanced engineering degree strongly preferred.
