Description of the Position:


Supplier Task Force Leader implements and maintains a system to support direct suppliers during sourcing, launch and crisis management during mass production.

This is accomplished by evaluating the operational systems of the supply base to ensure implementation of WCM practices.

It is the connection between Magna and the supplier during the supplier ́s program phases and he leads the team definition and action plan to efficiently solve the challenges by using standardized tools.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Implements a system to evaluate the operational systems of the suppliers including but not limited to manufacturing, maintenance, and industrialization processes
  • Leads the communication with the supplier and Magna ́s multifunctional team during the implementation of activities
  • Promote a culture of Teamwork, Quality Improvement and of Cost reduction thru continuous improvement, partnering with the Global Engineering team, Manufacturing, AME, PM & SQD.
  • Evaluates the supplier ́s capabilities and operational performance during the presourcing and sourcing process, defines corrective action plan if support is requested
  • Ensures the implementation of WCM best practices during the APQP process
  • Evaluates the performance of the supply base along with the quality director and the supplier development manager to define preventive and reactive activities within the suppliers
  • Defines KMIs and exit plan to finalize the support during crisis management
  • Support new program launches, supplier localization, resourcing projects to identify supplier improvements from operational point of view and ensure effective actions are implemented
  • Support with problematic suppliers defining action plans from process point of view with focus on prevention
  • Practice and maintain integrity while following Magna's Charter and Constitution.
  • Follow Magna's Code of Conduct and Ethics and related compliance policies.
  • Supports and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management system (IATF).
  • Drive the development of new technologies to improve quality, efficiency and reduce cost.
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures to ensure duties of self are performed in a safe manner.
  • Health & Safety responsibilities:
  • Understand applicable Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures in the workplace.
  • Report unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Report injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses, property damage immediately.
  • Follow safety rules.
  • Comply with requirements for the use or operation of machines or equipment.
  • Comply with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Create a positive work environment by demonstrating and sharing functional/technical knowledge.
  • Develop and maintain a responsive and cooperative working relationship with internal and external customers.
  • Treat everyone with dignity, trust and respect.
  • Complete additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:


  • Bachelors Degree required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electronics) preferred
  • Specialist/expert on die casting, forging or machining commodity with management background
  • Experience in effective project management and strategic planning
  • High level of expertise on WCM practices and continuous improvement
  • Selfmotivated, drives for improvement, strong communication skills
  • 10 years experience in Plant Operations
  • High level of competence in interpretation of drawings through the use of GD&T
  • Basic knowledge in ISO/ IATF 16949 & VDA
  • Proficient in problem solving (8D, 5Why, Shainin, Six Sigma, DOE, etc.)
  • Intermediate knowledge in AIAG core tools: PPAP, APQP, Control Plans, FMEA, MSA and SPC
  • Proficient in Word / Excel / PowerPoint
