TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION COORDINATOR


The Innovation and Technology Coordinator develops, promotes and implements the Technology and Innovation curriculum under the direction of the Head of Campus and the Innovation and Technology Manager so that Peterson Schools furthers its position as a vanguard institution in digital culture.


Coordinates Technology and Innovation department in Elementary, creating the curriculum, observing classes, reviewing planners, integrating Maker Space into the curriculum, Technology innovation classes.


REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Computer science degree, or related.
  • Three to five years of experience at an educational institution as a teacher and/or coordinator that continually pushed the boundaries of digital thinking
  • Fully fluent in written and oral Spanish and English
  • Deep expertise in the management of Google Workspace for Education and the academic related components.
  • Proven track record of fomenting positive change toward a more and more integrated digital culture in education.
  • Strong ability to work across various levels of the organization in a way that brings people together around the big ideas and fosters a culture of candor, innovation, collaboration toward Peterson's mission, vision, and goals
  • Successfully models the integration of digital tools in classroom educational experiences.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and implementation of the SAMR model through professional development opportunities for teachers.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS

  • Prepares a variety of materials ( reports, memos, videos, letters, procedures, manuals, assessments, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, conveying information or promoting school accomplishments.
  • Coordinates activities of outside vendors, consultants and trainers related to educational technology and academic needs.
  • Assists with the planning, design and installation of future network expansions as growth demands with school head and the IT staff.
  • Possesses a deep understanding of project based learning and the Technology and innovation curriculum and is responsible for advocating their implementation on the campus.
  • Participates in the management, evaluation and support of the campus LMS, SIS and other education technology platforms.
  • Provides the IT Manager feedback regarding network security and support mechanisms (including, but not limited to firewalls, filters and other online safety tools) as well as the maintenance and improvement of school networks and its related software and hardware.
  • Designs, models and facilitates professional development strategies as well as other relevant events, workshops and presentations for staff and parents.
  • Provides instructional strategies and resources consistent with Project Based Learning and the TandI curriculum
  • Mediates the transition to Digital Thinking for teachers transitioning between the traditional computer lab model and the PBL model required by the TandI Curriculum
  • Cocreate, develop, and implement a three to five years Technology Plan in the supervision of the Head of Campus and IT Manager, and in coordination with other site leaders that lays out a roadmap to further Peterson's position as a leader in digital culture and its integration in education.

Salary:
$32, $34,000.00 per month
