Role and Responsibilities

  • Determine applicable standards and engineering analysis required for each project within portfolio.
  • Work with Compliance Managers to ensure project RFI is correct, and deliverables are appropriate.
  • Support Compliance Managers in evaluating compliance, developing corrective action plans, and supporting regulator communications regarding compliance issues.
  • Track project timelines to plan for regular reviews and ensure client deliverables are ready on time.
  • Perform or review various NERC Compliance studies:FAC008, PRC005, PRC019, PRC024, PRC025, PRC026, PRC027, MOD025, and MOD03
  • Manage efforts related to cyber policies, procedures, and evidence gathering to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Perform high level bulk power system studies using various power system software such as PSS/e, PSCAD, Aspen, and PSLF.
  • Review engineering studies for new and emerging technologies such as inverters, or Bulk Energy Storage Systems, which may require interaction with equipment vendors to complete the analyses.
  • Process, generate and maintain data as required for other engineering related studies.
  • Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives.
  • Support client calls as necessary.

Required Qualification & Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and/or minimum 24 years renewable energy industry experience in power systems engineering, NERC compliance engineering, or engineering operations roles
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings and writings, translating them into actionable work breakdown structures.
  • Must be fluent in written and verbal English communication.

Experience Required

  • 2+ years' work experience in NERC Compliance

Experience Preferred

  • 2+ years actively supporting a Generator Owner compliance program.
  • Working with a U.S Company is highly preferred.

Specialized or Technical Knowledge Licenses, Certifications Preferred

  • Technical knowledge of power systems operations and NERC Reliability Standards

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problemsolving and analytical skills to address complex challenges and make datadriven decisions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Additional knowledge of ERCOT, CAISO, and other ISO/RTO markets, State Public Utilities Commissions, and IA/PAA operational requirements desirable
